The Tantra Festival was held on the 10th and 11th of August, 2011 in Natha Yoga Center, Copenhagen and was the first of such in Denmark.
It gathered sexologists, ‘love-experts’, and tantrics from Denmark, as well from several other countries, both speakers and teachers.
We had on-going workshops, dance shows, amazing lectures, and other events, together with delicious food, socializing in the ‘Tantra Lounge’ and meditations with Tantric Goddesses. People had the chance to speak with professionals, the Ayurvedic doctor from the Natha Yoga Therapy Center and with Masseurs from the Tantra Temple.
From the participants we mention: Joan Ørting, Carsten Graff, Sasha Cobra, Lone Powerprinsesse, Robert Lubarski, Katrine Berling, Lucia Söderling, Niels Dencker, Tantra Templet, Mihai and Adina Stoian, Anja Lysholm, Shasmina Dlaceur, Tigerekspressen, Tantra Zone, James og Evy Sampson, Mikael Kaiser Mørch and Frank Bloch Nielsen, Maria and Carmen from ’Kurser med Hjertet’, Lorenzo Stiernquist and Susanne Mikaella Veierbæk from ’Livsglædecentret’, and different Natha Yogacenter's teachers.
All speakers gave the best of them, and throughout the entire festival the events were characterized by a high professional standard, as well by attention, happiness, curiosity, and openheartedness from the many happy guests we had.
It was fantastic for the organizers to see how happy and fulfilled people seemed to be when they were coming out from different events they were attending here, and so lovely to hear the sound bites made by people walking in and out, sharing the experiences they just had; to hear how their curiosity increased while particpating to these events. It was obvious to see, in the days after the festival, that people were filled with energy, curiosity and inspiration, together with a yearning to learn more about Tantra, love and sexuality.
We can definitely say that the festival was a big success, and we are already looking forward to organizing it within the next year, to invite guests, speakers, and workshop teachers.
“The idea of the festival is to create an yearly hotspot focusing on an important social and cultural phenomena within our society. Just like we, during these times, have other positive tendencies, such as the fitness-wave, the ecology-wave, the ‘good energy’-wave, the yoga-wave, the raw food-wave, so is the Tantra-wave helping to bring together people who wish to evolve through sexuality, couple relationship, self awareness, and other creative activities, through the awakening of consciousness in our lives and in free forms of social interaction. The popularity of the festival speaks for itself.
Tantra is becoming a part of the way we interact with each others and addresses the ‘big’ questions in life,” says Sahajananda, one of the organizers and hosts of the Tantra Festival.
It was easy to get some experience regarding the essence of Tantra during the festival, no matter if you were new to Tantra or more advanced. It was easy to get a firsthand impression on what Tantra is, and to realize that Tantra is so much more than the erotic side of it. Tantra is a spiritual path that deals with saying YES to life in all its aspects.
Tantra teaches us to live life fully in every moment, with great intensity, full awareness and detachment. It teaches us to surrender ourselves to the flow of life, full of love and appreciation. This way, life turns into an everlasting and joyous learning, where we are taught everything we need in order to evolve for the better, acknowledging and realizing our potential, and thus becoming more and more complete.
Tantra is indeed a spiritual path that everybody can learn.
“Several of the workshops started with a short show case where the teacher gave an intensive speech from his or her heart to the audience. A feeling of joy and positive emotions filled the hall, often supported with expressions of joy and release, in the same time. People couldn’t get enough of input, speeches or exercises, and many continued from one workshop to the next without a break inbetween. On another level you bring so much with you home from a festival like this, that isn’t even necessarily to be observed on the outside, or to become obvious to you right away, but that can help us through the rest of our life; teachings, that give us direction or advice when we need it. And this is were Tantra becomes an excellent instrument for getting wind into your sail boats, and even to learn to gauge from where the wind is coming, meaning seeing what kind of invisible forces are in play throughout our life, which, with or without our knowledge, is setting, and controlling our course”, says Sahajananda.
This depth, joy, heartfulness, intimacy, expanded consciousness and insight, was obvious to be seen on people's faces, as they were concluding various workshops, events and lectures. As it was clear to us in all feedbacks received after the festival.
The only point of critique we've got as organizers, was that “it’s too long a wait for next year’s festival”, and “there were not enough tickets”.
We are working to improve these subjects.J
The program for the festival in September 2011 is still available at www.tantrafestival.dk, where we will also announce the program, times, and lecturers for next year’s festival, as soon as we have it planed.
You are welcome to read more and leave comments and suggestions on our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tantrafestival/250273248329598
We are looking forward to see you as our guests and to participate once again to the next year’s Tantra Festival in Natha Yoga Center!
Following there are some of the impressions we have received from teachers, lecturers and guests.
Tantra Festival at Natha Yoga Center – Concordia 2011
Thank you for an absolutely unforgettable and lovely weekend devoted to Tantra. Unforgettable, because I, who've never had been to Concordia before (the home of Natha Yoga Center), have felt how this place was oozing with heart-warm and loving energy.
I was happy and curios as soon as I've arrived there. But this happiness got in a mysterious way transformed into.., well, I am not sure if words can describe the feeling of the experience of something much bigger. I was like ''high'' for several days after the festival, Thanks ©
The program for the weekend was full of energetic and accomplished lecturers, as well as the workshops. It was like entering the most exquisite fine bakery, and then choose one after the other from the delicious pastries, alias all the interesting subjects from the wonderful universe of Tantra.
I started with the workshop with Robert Lubarski, which was super lovely: as movements, sounds and polarity. Later on, there was the workshop with Tigerekspressen: power and balance in process, and I have personally fully enjoyed Joan Ørting's lecture as well.
Just as the Tantric Couple: How to turn your relationship into a tantric relationship, with Mihai Stoian, and Lodret Vildskab (Vertical Wildness): How to work downward energetically. Finally, I have immensely enjoyed the fantastic lovely Melting Moments with Tantra Zone.
I am looking very much forward to next year’s festival, and, from all of my heart I thank you, those at Natha Yoga Center, who planted the seed, and let the festival bloom as the most beautiful lotus blossom.
The Festival was a fantastic arrangement.
The highlights that I experienced during the festival were Sasha Cobra, US, and Robert Lubarski’s lecture about following the wisdom of your heart. The two of them had one thing in common: it was as if they both were speaking to my thoughts, about the time we are living in right now and about the path we all, when it comes to it, deeply long for. ..If we take our time to open our awareness.
The house is a really beautiful place, with tantric art on the walls, painted by the fantastic artist Ines Honfi. The vegetarian restaurant Ambrosias Have, and the many appealing details, such as the crystals in the floor, and the lighting in the yoga halls, they are all done so soft and comfortable. There took a great deal to make the surroundings such unique.
I've attended a really beautiful show, where several goddesses were dancing around their Shiva. It was lovely and touching to see the way women were surrendering into the process, and really enjoying what they were doing. Something many women could learn from, as well as many men.
So, I can only encourage YOU to participate at the next year’s festival.
– Nicolas Thorsen
“I have always been fascinated of the beauty in the nature of Love and Sexuality. Therefore, it was with great pleasure, curiosity, and expectations that I've received a ticket to the Tantra Festival for my birthday. The meeting with Shasmina Dlaceur, who was representing Kirtsne Stendevad’s Gudindeskole (Goddess Academy), was a lovely way to start the festival. ‘Goddess exercises’, such as seeing the highest potential in the other festival guests, was very powerful; I was surprised over the precision with which a completely stranger could tell me about my potential, and what I expressed in my appearance. The presentation of Tao-Tantra massage, how to make love with healing benefits, truly captured my attention. Dencker showed a very compassionate and loving way you can sit very close to your lover. A very tangible exercise one could bring home to try out. Lone Powerprinsesse succeeded, as always, illustrating with what power and intensity that manifests when the woman shows her true character, as she is aroused to her fullest pleasure. Katrine Berling's focus on the result-oriented hunt for the climax was thought provoking: are we able to be aware about ourselves, and what we actually really desire and turns us on? Eva and Carmen from Kurser med Hjertet (Courses with the Heart), have led me on a journey about the tenderness and strength we, women, possess, both individually and united together. I am, in every way, very happy and grateful to be able to encounter so many inspiring lectures, and see so many beautiful women in their sensual dance. Thank you for an absolutely exciting, and eventful festival.”
It was with utmost pleasure to produce a Tango Meditation Workshop in the beautiful Ananda Hall on Saturday evening. All the facilities were in order, and the kind hosts were in total command and control of all the practical matters, and the guests were active, open-minded, and aware. The only thing missing was a little extra time to enjoy it all.
I also experienced the very beautiful Tantra dance at the opening ceremony, very loving energy during the “Kærlighedskrigerne” (“Love Warriors”) workshop, and an interesting concluding debate. I have enjoyed, in general, the beautiful surroundings, and the positive energy indoor as well as outdoor.
– Lucia Söderling / Tango Meditation
Participating in the Tantra Festival, on Saturday, September the 9th, as one of the workshop presenters, proved to be a very fine experience for me. I felt that the people who were there, all came openhearted and showing much interest in learning and gaining new knowledge. That was groovy!
Besides, I have participated as a guest in several other workshops throughout the weekend. I found Niels Dencker, and his take on Tantra Massage as very interesting, and I have clearly got some great inspiration to bring home with me.
Some of what I remember the most from the weekend are Katrine Berling's and Lone Powerprinsesse's lectures.
In each of their way, they have addressed subjects as pleasure, love and sexuality, especially focused on the woman. It was both uplifting and very inspiring.
Last, but not least, I was exceptionally impressed by the very beautiful and sensual dance shows, performed both during the day and at the party in the evening, a show that Natha has produced. The show was so delightful and sensual, that just seeing this, was worth spending the whole weekend at the festival.
I always enjoy coming at Natha because the vibe is so loving and open in every way. And this time wasn’t an exception at all.
Thanks for a great weekend.”

- (Legal and Media Cases)
We, the teachers and students of Natha Yogacenter wish to express our concern over the flagrant abuse of spiritual practitioners and the violation of spiritual values by fundamentalist-religious groups and certain parts of the media in India.
The target of this abuse is Satya Esoteric Integral Yoga – a member of the Atman International Federation of Yoga and Meditation, of which Natha Yogacenter Denmark is a full member.
On Friday 3rd June, an attack upon the Indian yoga school – Satya Esoteric Integral Yoga was started. It began with a high profile article on the front page of The Times of India (one of India’s biggest newspapers) falsely denouncing the yoga school as a European sex cult which is dealing in pornography and is aiming to spread throughout India and corrupt its youth. Such ridiculous claims appear even worse in light of the fact that the journalist had a long and friendly talk with the people of Satya Yoga during which they exposed wide segments of their curriculum as well as complete explanations regarding the specificities of their teachings. In the article later published, the journalist wrote misleading facts and lies, completely ignoring all that was said to him and focusing only on the ridiculous accusation of pornography while trying to shed doubt upon the legality of the visas of the teachers of Satya Yoga.
It is peculiar that an article about a small group of volunteers sharing their knowledge of yoga reaches the front page of a paper which is read by millions of people, unless it is inspired by some ill-intended people who are hiding in the shadows. We state this fact as an indirect proof of the hidden interest that exists behind this smear campaign against Satya Yoga since the events that followed also took the same direction.
This article was quickly followed by more “reports” in other media, all of them extremely biased, gravely breaching the professional journalistic code of conduct and civic ethics. This was done through deliberate misquotes and misrepresentation as well as the citing of false and deceiving information. For example, one reporter published a fictional interview with one of the volunteers of Satya Yoga which never actually took place. This reporter put together different, unrelated pieces of information combined with blatant lies so that it looked like the Satya volunteer was confessing to dealing with pornography despite the fact that this person had never said anything of the sort. This act is both libelous and fraudulent and highly illegal according to Indian law. Yet none of these journalists were taken to court or even investigated, which would be the usual procedure for such crimes.
As a consequence of these unlawful actions, the media persecution, led by the Times of India, stirred up a fundamental-religious group called Hindu Makkal Katchi and they in turn filed a complaint accusing Satya Yoga of providing sexual therapy and distributing obscene materials. This is another false accusation against a group of people whose only guilt was to practice yoga with dedication and perseverance.
The ensuing police investigation has disrupted the lives of the students and volunteers of Satya Yoga and attempted to shut down the entire activities of this spiritual school. The police officers abusively warned the people of Satya Yoga that they might be harmed by followers of Hindu Makkal Katchi if they continue to meet in the yoga center. Such behaviour from those who are supposed to maintain the peace and order in a country and to protect people from pressure and threats is a severe deviation that we deeply regret and assert as fraudulent.
This activity of aggressive intimidation (by using the pressure of extremist groups) by the Indian police forced the people of Satya Yoga school to temporarily leave the premises. Consequently, we are sad to realize that all the evidence shows that Times of India, guided by the hidden agendas of people from above them, initiated a witch hunt upon yoga practitioners from Satya Yoga school which was carried out by the local police and based solely on false and libelous claims.
These events began during a spiritual gathering attended also by several teachers and students from Natha Yogacenter, Denmark. The gathering was disrupted by these events. Several participants were even afraid to come back to the spiritual gathering. Mihai Stoian, the coordinating teacher of Natha Yogacenter, was also taking part of this spiritual gathering, and became a target of the defamatory campaign of the Indian media. Our students and teachers returned home safely, yet shocked by the events.
This is not the first time that such incidents have taken place. Spiritual schools and practitioners have been wrongfully attacked and derogated throughout the world at least in the past 2 decades. This is also not the first time that such things have happened in India; for instance, there are the cases of Muktananda and the spiritual community of Auroville which were both wrongfully accused without any evidence. In fact, we find striking similarities between these events – the manner with which all media turned against the spiritual movement without showing the other side of the story at all, clear misrepresentation of facts, and the focusing on those accusations of a sexual nature. Also the timing is common to all cases – being chosen for when a certain spiritual movement is growing beyond a certain level. It is significant for us to notice that this campaign started a few days before the new groups of practice were starting in Satya Yoga school, clearly aiming to disrupt this process.
We have found proof that other cases of harassment of some spiritual movements around the world were orchestrated by certain corrupt power circles which oppose genuine spirituality. This is because genuine spirituality is of a real threat to social corruption and helps the ordinary man or woman to spiritually awaken and thus get free from the manipulation that is exerted in most cases by the power holders in the society. We have cause to believe that this is also the case now, due to the striking similarities between these cases as well as some information coming from insiders.
We stand by our Indian colleagues in this time of tests and trials, and offer them our experience in dealing with such defamatory accusations. We wish to reinforce your faith in your success, on account of our success in dealing with such anti-spiritual campaigns. For example, in Romania the court has discharged all accusations made against the spiritual movement and its spiritual guide Gregorian Bivolaru; and in Denmark several media have apologized and the others are now being taken to court for defamation. In both countries, as in others, the spiritual schools thrive and grow, long after the echoes of calumny have subsided.
We stand by you, our brothers and sisters of Yoga, in your quest for truth, justice and love, and we know that good and purity will always eventually win, even though the path may at times be long and hard.
In conclusion, we remember that darkness exists only due to the absence of light, and injustice prevails only when good people don’t stand up for truth. Therefore, we call upon all lovers of spirituality in India, Denmark and all over the world to rise and stand for the spiritual values – write to the Times of India, to other Indian papers, to Human Rights organizations and even to kind and morally oriented politicians who can influence public opinion, express your protest, comment on the articles on-line, and support Satya Esoteric Integral Yoga.
Together, with brotherhood, until Truth and decency will prevail,
The teachers and students of Natha Yogacenter
Message from Satya Esoteric Integral Yoga
Dear Satya Yoga Students and Friends.
We are very sorry to announce you that due to the recent slanderous campaign supported by pressure exerted by some extremist groups upon our school we have to cease the renting contract for the rooms in Teynampet. Therefore until further notice the classes are temporarily on hold. All of you that have been following this yoga school for years now will have the chance to continue with the practice sessions as soon as possible.
We stand up for the truth against all the false allegations and slanderous lies against our school first brought forth by Times of India and followed up by other media without any kind of investigations. We published also a press release as an answer to the accusations the same day as the first article in the Times of India appeared, but no media wanted to print it even if we personally delivered it to them and they reported about this situation but with their own lies. This fact itself is showing to everyone the real ill-intention that stand behind this smearing campaign against Satya Yoga school.
We firmly state:
Satya Yoga has never shown or produced any pornographic or erotic movies. The teachings do not contain any sexual therapies, nude activities nor any acts of intimacy. This is of cause very well known by all of you who have attended our activities.
On the 3rd of June Times of India claims in a front page article that Satya Yoga mixes sex, yoga and pornography. All of you who have practiced in Satya Yoga know that we practice asanas and meditation very seriously in its genuine, traditional form and that also in the yoga and tantra classes there is absolutely no erotic practices nor acts of intimacy. It is in fact a common misunderstanding that is specific to layman to obsessively associate tantra with sex and lust, and it seems that this is what the TOI reporter is trying to use in order to create a deliberate confusion among his readers.
Tuesday the 7th of June NDTV broadcasts a completely manipulative program showing clips from the Cosmic Spiral Meditation mixed with other clips from other yoga schools from abroad and an unknown couple embracing each other, thus insinuating that acts of intimacy were happening during the Spiral. There is also a fake interview where a reporter seemingly asks if it is true that all the teachers in Satya Yoga have been acting in porn movies and a recorded voice replies “yes yes – it is absolutely correct”. But the amazing fact is that this interview, only supported by still pictures, has never taken place! It is 100% fabricated by the news channel NDTV. Even if this is a criminal act the police was never trying to act against the people that are behind such fraudulent action.
Instead a Police Inspector is interviewed saying publicly that the allegations (mixing sex with yoga) against Satya Yoga are found to be true. This statement was shown only one day after the police started the investigation based on a complaint of the fundamentalist movement Hindu Makkal Katchi. How can an organ of justice – as the police is supposed to be – publicly find an accusation to be true, while they just started investigating about it? What kind of base for finding the truth is that? Apparently the police supports the slanderous campaign against Satya Yoga by spreading rumours and discrediting our school.
For all the friends of truth we have to say that the journalist from TOI was also trying in several cases to threaten the teachers team of Satya Yoga and even to induce all kind of suggestions in order to obtain some specific easy to manipulate answers. Fortunately we have recorded the talks with him and we will soon disclose publicly with video evidence the hypocritical and completely unprofessional behavior of the journalist from TOI.
On the 8th of June came another slanderous article in The Times of India stating that Tuesday the 7th of June 5 foreigners, associated with Satya Yoga, 3 of them mentioned by name, were questioned by the police about their visa situation and their practices. Here is another proof of the unprofessional work done by the journalist and the hidden agenda that is becoming every day more visible behind this campaign: these people mentioned in the article left the country Monday the 6th of June and none of them have been interrogated by the police before that. The journalist is just trying to create more confusion on top of his initial lies in order to convince people about them. Yet we consider that our students and friends are intelligent people and they will not accept such manipulations that are made by people with a weak intellect.
The same day a completely sensationalistic-fictional article appeared in the Tamil yellow press magazine “Nakkeeran” (or something like this). In the same style as TOI article, this article basically springs forth from the imagination of the reporter and has nothing to do with reality. He even lied about the spiral, telling how it took place in a farmhouse and how Mihai was talking about tantric sexuality and how to become one with each other and nature. Those of you who participated to the spiral all know that this is pure fantasy of the “journalist” and this can be proven since the whole event was video recorded. Yet the fact that other media channels are starting to behave in the same way (we can call it the TOI syndrome) proves once again without error the existence of the same hand that is coordinating this campaign and is covering it no matter how many laws (moral and social laws) will be broken for this.
Friday the 10th of June Times of India is publishing yet another article where the police seemingly announce that they have a warrant and that most likely they will search the school the following day. For any careful reader the blatant manipulation jumps up immediately: since when is the police announcing through the media to the potential criminals that they will search their place? Is this a joke or is it just another way of throwing suspicion on Satya Yoga, criminalizing our spiritual activities for some hidden interests? The answer sadly comes out more and more with its ugly face.
There are several statements in the media that Mihai Stoian and Adina Stoian went absconding after the police started the investigation. This is another proof of the hidden interest of these media parrots that are only repeating what they are told. In reality Mihai, Adina and the other visitors left the country on the 6th of June BECAUSE THEY HAD FLIGHT TICKETS WITH FIXED DATES OF DEPARTURE, WHICH WERE BOUGHT MONTHS AGO. This fact can easily be checked.
Moreover members of the Satya Yoga team were attending in person and through legal advisors several meetings with the police investigators, offering them all the cooperation requested. This information could be easily found with a direct call to the police station and not insinuating all kind of “sources” from the inside of police. Therefore the statements from the media that the Satya Yoga team was hiding are once again proving (if it was necessary to have more proofs) that this campaign is conducted by people that know the immoral behavior of some journalists and they count on this. We are even ready to make a bet that our statements will not reach the media that otherwise claim to be so keen to find us and to hear our side of this fantastic story.
It is obvious for us that some forces with hidden agendas against Satya Esoteric Integral Yoga are trying to scare people away from the school. Their facts (superficially concealed by their actions but disclosed for any careful observer of the events) are proving this again and again. It is not the first time in history that a school or an organization, teaching genuine spirituality, has been attacked by anti-spiritual forces: remember Osho, Swami Rama, Muktananda etc. In such hostile climate and irresponsible and unprofessional media coverage (with easily proven lies in practically all the news fabricated until now on the Satya Yoga subject) we have been deliberately choosing to communicate our statements on the website only and avoid any contact with the journalists for the moment. Should any media channel prove willing to reflect in a fair way the story, without manipulations and lies (is that a fantastic request?) the team is willing to meet and have an open dialogue because we do not have anything to hide.
Yet we stand for the Truth and we will not stop until these lies and manipulations will not be completely disclosed together with the people that are behind them, the real responsible for the actual state of things in the Indian nation and worldwide.
We thank all of you who have been helping and supporting and praying for us in these last days even if it is difficult and challenging. It is also very challenging to us. Please keep up your spirit, and remember that you can do a lot even as an individual when you know the Truth and act in its name because this is the common ground (making the unison) of many. We are with you, and our actions are directed towards our success together. We ask you all to support and stand up for the Truth without fear, shame and inhibitions. Whenever you are confronted with the lies against Satya Yoga we ask you to come forward with wisdom and discernment, raise your voice and tell the truth.
Ultimately let us not forget the ancient saying “to know and act as if you don't know is the supreme cowardice”.
May God bless You all!
With Love and Peace

On 26th of November there took place in London the special international launching of the book ''The secret tantric path of love to happiness and fulfillment in a couple relationship'', by yoga teacher, Gregorian Bivolaru. This is the first book of this author to be published in English in this manner. The launching was a grandiose event which included a tantra seminar by mihai and Adina Stoian, Tantra teachers, a message from the author and a concert by the spiritually inspired musical group Devas. Mihai Stoian, who kept the seminar, shared his impressions with us.
A Celebration to the Soul
I am happy to share with you some impressions around the launch of this wonderful book “The Secret Tantric Path of Love to Happiness and Fulfillment in a Couple Relationship”
The evening was shared joyfully amongst 300 people who attended the event until late hours of the night. I was enchanted to see how true spirituality attracts readers from many parts of the world. With the event held in the heart of London the room was filled not only by English people, as one might expect, but also with people who traveled from Denmark, Ireland, Romania, France, Germany, Israel, Portugal. This is a reflection on both the heart of the writer who has reached many people around the world but also a reflection on the nature of true spirituality who is more and more being recognized and embraced.
I truly believe that this book is a must-read as we wish to grow wiser and more loving and mature into our relationships. Leafing through the pages, you will realize that this book is full of the most practical advices as well as beautiful reflections that touch the soul.

- (Aphorisms and thoughts)
by yoga professor Gregorian Bivolaru
1. To be free implies, among other things, the inner certainty that every human being is responsible both before the entire humanity and before GOD.
2. The wise man always judges himself as being responsible for all he does.
3. When we look from a certain perspective and see what is happening on this planet (Earth), we discover that, in reality, each of us is, in a certain measure, responsible for all the others.
4. Because of the holographic structuring of the Manifestation (WHICH MAKES THE PART BE SIMUTANEOUSLY PRESENT IN THE WHOLE AND THE WHOLE BE SIMULTANEOUSLY PRESENT IN THE PART), both the wise men and the great initiates consider that every human being is, in a certain measure, responsible for all the others.
5. Given that always, each of us does only what he/she wants to, as we are completely free, precisely because of that we are and we remain every time responsible for what we have become.
6. No human being may feel responsible and desperate at the same time.
7. Even when it is no longer capable to realize this, the demonic human being is and remains an absurdity responsible of the state in which it indulges itself.
8. Most of the times, when you try, by all means, to find a guilty person, look first of all into a mirror and not into a telescope.
9. Each of us experiences in the present what he/she has already chosen in the past and, beyond appearances, our future will depend extremely much on the choices we make in the present.
10. One of the most significant years of our life is the year when we realize that most part of the problems we confronted or we confront with were once caused by ourselves. Only then we will stop blaming our parents, accusing our friends, we will give up blaming what surround us and, at the same time, we will discover that we can be capable to control and even transform (in better) our destiny.
11. When we finally become capable to understand that, in reality, we are the artisans of our own unhappiness, we may say that we are ready to take an important step on the path of happiness.
12. Even when we do not realize this, almost everything in out life is in close connection with the good or bad choices we made.
13. If most of the times it seems to you that you are not responsible for the mind you have, at least become aware, as soon as possible, that you are totally responsible for the mind you are creating to yourselves. This way, you create the premises for a profound transformation in your being.
14. In the case in which you will manifest the necessary lucidity, attention and detachment, next time when you are either very furious or very upset, try to annihilate immediately that poisonous emotion, saying instantly to yourselves: “NOW, IN THIS UNIQUE MOMENT, I AND ONLY I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DESTRUCTIVE PROCESSES OF OCCULT RESONANCE WHICH I UNLEASH IN MY INNER UNIVERSE.”
15. The wise ones can show us the right path we have to follow and more than that, some of them can even impel us, in a paranormal way, to walk on it, but still, it is obvious that this path must then be walked by ourselves, with the help that comes to us from GOD.
16. If you aspirate with your entire being for your life to be and remain a magnificent history both for you and for the others, realize that, first of all, you are its author and that, more than this, each day you have the opportunity or the chance to write a new wonderful page, able to delight you.
17. It is important for us to realize as soon as possible that, before trying to conquer the world, it is much more important to start by conquering, revolutionizing and transforming ourselves.
18. If you are in the situation of being almost always used, decide firmly that, beginning with today, you become useful most of the times. In order to accomplish this, it is essential, above all, to aim at doing only GOD’s will.
19. We could never hope to achieve full success as long as we do not look attentively and lucidly into the mirror to discover which the real causes of our failures are.
20. We should never accuse the sea for our second shipwreck.
21. For the human being who is full of commons sense, benevolence and intelligence, the past is a springboard and not a hammock (the hammock is a suspended bed made of a piece of resistant cloth or of hammock netting and, most of the times, it is used in open air or in small rooms).
22. It s not possible to built or structure something really good and extraordinary, ceaselessly relying ourselves exclusively on the past. Even if we continue to do this mistake, we shall realize sooner or later that we have missed the extraordinary chance of the present.
23. It is always possible to discover and observe the greatness of a human being considering the greatness of the responsibilities it assumes.
24. Even when (for the moment) it does not realize this, every human being is responsible and, precisely because of that, it can reinvent its destiny, with the help of GOD.
25. The worthy human being does not wait for miracles in a state of total inertia or in a larval state. It strongly believes that miracles are possible and acts being full of
hope and optimism, so that, this way, GOD has mercy on it and makes possible the
miracles it needs.
26. The most appropriate place and time we always have at hand in order to come to accomplish what is good, divine and sublime is “HERE AND NOW”, with all that we have already succeeded in awakening in our inner universe.
27. The human being who is responsible, intelligent and full of common-sense, always finds original or even brilliant ways of solving problems, while the lethargic and irresponsible human being finds always only excuses.
28. Few realize that before a human being might really achieve his wonderful aspirations and to fulfill his sublime ideals, he has to be spiritually awakened first.
29. The weak ones who are in the same time unconscious, larval and irresponsible have problems. The strong ones, awaken from the spiritual point of view have creative solutions that are filling with amazement and admirations the inertial ones.
30. The intuitive, intelligent, responsible and full of common sense human being is
constantly analyzing himself with attention and lucidity in order to discover in his inner universe the possible causes of his mistakes; the reckless and irresponsible one uses to ask the others what are the causes of his errors.
31. When the choices and actions of a human being are profoundly beneficent and full of wisdom, we should assume, at our turn, what that human being is doing. Moreover, in this kind of situation, it is of our duty to let him free, and in the same time to aim to understand him, having a creative attitude of relating to his example.
In this kind of cases, it is even very good to aim to imitate him, at our turn, in order to assimilate, in this way, in our inner universe his example. This kind of wise attitude is what we might call ”the shared creative responsibility”.
32. The wise ones are always respecting ”the golden rule of the 3 R”: full of dignity Respect towards ourselves; full of common sense Respect towards the others; complete Responsibility of all the actions we are doing.
33. No human being with dignity and common sense can be or remain always frustrated in a world of perverted people.
34. Even when we are not realizing it (for the time being), we are completely responsible for our thoughts, intentions and deeds. Not even if they would take refuge on the Moon, neither if they would submerge somewhere on the bottom of the depths of the ocean, nor if they would hide in the deepest cave somewhere in the mountains, no matter where will he try to take refuge in this world, there is no realm where the human being might escape, even for one minute, of the inevitable consequences of his actions. In the same time, we should never forget that even in
the world beyond (the Astral Universe), it is impossible to escape from the consequences of our actions (that have not been burnt or annihilated).
35. The responsibility that we have involves, in the same time, not only the capacity to generate or to do something, but also the will to accept, sooner or later, all the results or consequences – good or bad – that are resulting from our actions, without ever assigning them to another person other than ourselves.
36. In some situations, due to our ignorance in which we are continuing to indulge, we feel paradoxically and abnormally guilty where, in reality, somebody else is responsible.
37. Responsibility is, together with self-control, common sense, love, intuition, intelligence compassion and authentic knowledge, one of the basic components of the beneficial and profoundly serene force that the human being is emanating powerfully and which is awakening in him wisdom and stability.
38. Without almost any exception, each one of us should always aim to do all that is good, offering every time to those who are ready to receive it, the goodness that already exists in our inner universe and can be manifested. This is one of our sacred responsibilities, that we should have in our sight in the case in which we are truly aspiring to become a human being.
39. The efficient instrument of every divine revolution is and remains the fully responsible Man, who is in the same time full of common sense, intelligence and love. This kind of man makes beneficial and full of wisdom choices.
40. Due to the fact that, beyond appearances, each one of us is responsible, to a certain degree, for everything that is happening (even when we do not realize it for the time being), we should allow to ”resound” (or, in other words, resonate in an occult way) in our inner universe all that we encounter each time which is good, divine, beautiful and wonderful (that in reality is known only by God and is never just happening).
41. An authentic and profound knowledge that is, in the same time, full of wisdom is always triggering in our being a certain state of responsibility, that will cause the decisions that we take to be on the same level.
42. If humanity, in its ensemble, will not discover as soon as possible a new and profoundly transforming way of living, which is based on godliness, wisdom, love, common sense, compassion, benevolence, altruism, goodness, humbleness and mutual help, it will drown more and more into the terrible state of decay that we are all observing in the world that we are living in.
43. We should all realize that, in reality, every choice and every intention that we are manifesting is in the same time influencing the whole humanity. Even when we are not (for the time being) realizing it, each one of us is, to a certain degree, responsible for everything that is happening on this planet, either it is about our daily existence, either it is about this world that we are all living in. Since we understand this, we should ask full of humbleness and faith for the help of GOD THE FATHER, so in this way, our thoughts, intentions and actions will influence in a good, profound and durable way, the whole humanity. Doing so very often, we might have a significant contribution, which could impulse the gradual transformation, in a good way, of the whole humanity in its ensemble.
44. We should realize that we are simply not mere biological beings, because in the beginning, GOD THE FATHER made us upon his image and alikeness, and when we are acting full of intelligence and common sense, it is possible to discover that, in reality, each one of us is a creative consciousness. That is why we should urgently realize that our responsibility is on the measure of this privilege.
45. When we are looking with lots of attention and lucidity upon the past, we are realizing that, in reality, the concept of responsibility is referring in a great measure to the potential consequences of our intentions and actions. Taking into consideration this aspect, we should prove common sense, intelligence and precaution, offering in the same time to the intuition the place that it deserves. It is then urgently necessary to do this, because there are many signs showing that our planet, the nature, the human space itself and even the biosphere are perishable. Knowing this, we should not lose from our sight the fact that, to a great degree, their fate is, at this very moment, in our hands.

Archangels are elevated sublime entities of light. Their predominant frequency of vibration puts them in an intermediary level between God and the created world. Angels have many roles in the creation of God.
They are the unseen force, messengers of God, the link between God and His creation who make sure that things are going the way they should. All created things have their angel of God who is responsible for them.
There are angels for birth, angels for death, angels for a star, angels for a galaxy, angels for fire, angels for space, angels for a group of trees, angels for spring…
More then this, each human being has his/her own guardian angel which has been assigned to him by God as his personal angel, who is always near the human being and has the role to help the human being in all aspect of life. One important thing about angels, is that they are always there to help us, but they can do so only if we ask for their help.
In the archangels' week we take the time to become aware of the presence of the archaengels and their beneficial influence upon our life. It is a time to deepen our awareness about the angels and their presence, and to remember to ask for their help and support during the challenges of life, and in our spiritual growth. We are offered daily meditation, supported by our spiritual guide, with different angels, so we can get to know them better and establish a true connection with them.
All are invited to come to Natha Yogacenter to take part in the meditation, or even to meditate where ever they are in the time of the supported meditation and get to know the angels better.

If you cannot come to NathaYoga Center you can also participate simultaneously at home.
By resonance with all the participants throughout the world you will have an easy unison with the Angels. Make yourself a comfortable place, disconnect the phone, light a few candles or incense sticks, whatever brings you into a relaxed, happy mood. Read the description of the Angels a few times and try to make yourself an as clear as possible vision of them. Sit down for meditation in a comfortable position or on a chair, relax your body, your emotions, your feelings and finally your mind. Listen to the inner silence. Feel deep inside yourself and remain, as much as possible, in this inner silence.
If you now call the angels from deep in your heart, you will have the possibility to feel them very fast. They are already patiently waiting for us...

unpaid ex -informer until he withdrew from attending the MISA courses. After 12 years! This informer, who withdrew from the Yoga course in 1995, recently joined the campaign of denigration of the Yoga school.
By George Preda
Recently I have heard, from private sources that Valeriu Fruntes (see photo), the author of some slanderous articles which have appeared recently in the press in the MISA Yoga school, is a secret agent (spy) and that while he was attending the MISA courses he was an informer. This character presents himself as a resident psychiatrist in France and he uses his professional position to have some more credit regarding the MISA subject. He also claims that he is able to provide correct and up to date information regarding the activity of the Yoga school because he attended the courses of this school. In fact, he withdrew from these courses more than 13 years ago!
Two independent sources have confirmed that Fruntes was an informer at the time he attended MISA courses. He disappeared from this scene for 12 years and now he reappeared, launching himself out of his own initiative; so he claims, in a personal campaign of inexplicable violence against the YOGA school. Our sources say that the reason of his “initiative” is completely different then just a personal vendetta. After the abuses against MISA have been put on the table of OSCE, being in this way brought to the attention of the UE officials and placing the Romanian authorities in a rather ridiculous position in the OSCE meeting in Warsaw, the spy Vali Fruntes was asked to help with the eager misinformation campaign, launched in Romania against the MISA Yoga school and her mentor Gregorian Bivolaru. It is easy to notice, for any careful reader who has common sense, that this campaign has absolutely no substance.
Valeriu Fruntes has a discrete activity of gathering secret information in Reims, France, where he is active as an undercover psychiatrist and psychotherapist. Private sources informed me that Valeriu Fruntes is already monitored by the French Secret Services (Department of Territorial Security), which have been notified about the espionage activities he has. We should not be surprised that a person who has attended MISA Yoga school 13 years ago as a RIS (Romanian Informational Service) informer is now taken out of the shelf and asked by his secret bosses in the Ministry of External Affairs to help denigrate this Yoga school fully, besides the espionage and gathering information activities which he does in Reims, in France.
When Valeriu Fruntes will be arrested for the espionage activities he does in France, we will come back with details which will confirm what we announce now, based on confidential information we received from a knowledgeable person in the MEA (Ministry of External Affairs) Secret Services. So, these are the human hatchets lacking consciousness, showing greediness for a spy wage form of income, which attacks without any shame this Yoga school.
This information was also confirmed independently by a person contacted by Fruntes and to which he revealed himself, not realizing that the respective person was in the position of checking him directly. Besides, for those who want to be completely convinced, we will show below how some of the actions of this real agent prove to be real: maneuvers meant to serve the orders received from above!
An interesting aspect that unveils the clearly bad intended actions of Valeriu Fruntes is the fact that after years of “integration” in the French society (although we have seen how he understood his integration there as a spy), he decides to make his own blog… in Romanian!!! Moreover, the only subject that seems to be on his mind is MISA yoga school and nothing else. For 12 years he did not say a word about this subject, at least not publicly.
We wonder, if this man had been integrated in the French society, as he claims, and if he had been successful, would he had waited for so many years to make his own blog and then eventually start investigating a subject that has nothing to do with the French society, namely an odd denigrating campaign of the Yoga school in Romania? His action shows clearly that now he was activated (required) for this denigrating and slanderous mission and this is why he decided to start his campaign on the Internet, addressed directly to those from Romania. He is one of the few working persons for the Secret Services who also attended the yoga courses and who is now sent in mission abroad, therefore certain credibility is offered to the naïve Romanians. But without realizing it, he unmasks himself through this action, because it is obvious that from his entire activity as psychiatrist, all he has to publish on the Internet are his slanderous reamrks and bad intended chaotic writings regarding the Yoga school in Romania, which he left 13 years ago.
Due to too much work in the field he praises himself to be a specialist; Fruntes feels the need to publish endless articles, which he publishes in Romanian. Besides, he accesses different sites and he self-proposes as a MISA expert, putting there links to his blog. If it had been an article written for collaborating with a newspaper, we would believe it as a momentary passion. But he is publishing tens of pages which, although badly written, require some time to be done. Moreover, his works lack common sense and are considered extremely vulgar by anyone with a minimum of education, and even more by someone working in a university environment.
I wonder if the psychic problems or more probably the received order make this pseudo-science man manifest in a dirty style?! Even the photo he is displaying is relevant in this respect: a typical Freudian look with the cigar in the mouth, which any psychologist and psychiatrist knows and should know shows frustrations and obsessions of sexual nature.
We can clearly see, actually his mission and where he really focuses his attention; the psychiatrist work in Reims is a good cover up for the missions he receives from home. We can ask, the: why didn’t Fruntes proceed like this to promote his professional work and how, all of a sudden, he proves to be so vivid, and active in promoting the huge quantity of lies and slanderous remarks, that he found over night? I wonder if he meditated for 12 years upon Misa topic and now, finally he felt ready to offer us the result of his reflections which have nothing to do with the reality?! Our question is obviously rhetorical, as the answer is clear: he has just been reactivated and just now he was given the task to promote these slanderous aspects. Before being given this mission, he had no interest whatsoever to do this thing with the profession for which he has officially in France, since this profession was only a cover up for the informer activity. For the intelligent ones, Fruntes’s actions betray him and show him the true intentions.
There is no wonder that the infantile hallucinations of a loser psychiatrist mind, who has an unleashed imagination, saw, very promptly the light of the printer in some papers, which serve the Romanian power. Within these mediocre and full of out of date and flat articles, Valeriu Fruntes emphasizes how true this statement is: “often we use to judge the others, who we do not like, according with our own perversity”.
It is pathetic to realize that Valeriu Fruntes believes strongly, that all the nonsense that he imagines corresponds to the reality. Beyond the appearances, Gregorian Bivolaru, who he attacks with so much hatred and bitterness, has up to now 30 published books, among which some are translated in foreign languages. Valeriu Fruntes himself will have something to boast with, until the end of this lifetime: low articles, full of humiliations and slanderous remarks against MISA Yoga school and his mentor, Gregorian Bivolaru.
We feel a lot of compassion for the pathetic image of Valeriu Fruntes, as Secret Services informer, spy with wages in France, now, in Reims and hireling paid from the secret accounts of Adrian Nastase, who writes on the anti MISA sites, “the works of his lifetime”, through which he won’t be able to enter the history of this people. If he had paid attention, he would have discovered that within the Great Romanians campaign, done by the Romanian Television, in 2006, the YOGA teacher, Gregorian Bivolaru was situated on the 20th position, according to the votes expressed by the viewers.
This aspect should communicate something to him. If he asked the question; “On what position is Valeriu Fruntes situated?” we are convinced that he would realize the pathetic state in which he exists. But we invite him to write at least 15 books (not 30, the way Gregorian Bivolaru did) and to publish at least 50 specific articles, before having the nerve to attack the YOGA teacher Gregorian Bivolaru, who, whatever he may say, and no matter how much he would talk, he is nowadays more appreciated than the obscure psychiatrist Valeriu Fruntes, “refugee” in France, and who is a secret agent in the MAE secret services.

Recent archaeological discoveries in Bosnia question the officially recognized history of our ancestors and even the official theories of the origin of mankind. Even though the proofs regarding this discovery are significant nobody from the Danish press or media were present to the meeting at the local (Bosnian Society House) in Copenhagen. Except Natha.net and Logos magazine.
Sunday 10th of February the founder of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation Semir Osmanagic visited Copenhagen. Semir Osmanagic is also the project leader of an archaeological investigation of the so-called 'pyramid valley' in Visoko in Bosnia-Herzegovina. A research programme that might turn out to be significant in the disclosure of our cultural past and origin.
The Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation claims nothing less than to have discovered the existence of ancient pyramids in the old Kingstown Visoko in the heart of the Balkans.
Amrita Hansen and Semir Osmanagic
Not a single Danish journalist from the mainstream media was present at the lecture, even though more than 120 people of Danish and Bosnian origin attended Semir Osmanagic´s presentation of the material about the investigation of the Visoko-phenomena.
Semir Osmanagic started his lecture by denying the popular belief that pyramids from former civilizations only exist in Egypt and Mexico. Studies of ancient cultures across the world are telling us that evidence of pyramid structure can be found in almost any ancient civilisation. Semir Osmanagic then demonstrated how more than 1000 pyramids can be pointed out on satellite photos: Many hundreds in Egypt, Mexico and Central America, more than one hundred and fifty in China and Mongolia, many more hundreds in Peru, Bolivia and the South American Amazon and even subaquatic pyramids near to the coast of Japan have been found.
From where do the pyramids originate? What is the purpose of building a pyramids? And is there a connection between the pyramids found in different parts of the world? These are still some of the fundamental enigmas in the study of the civilizations of our ancestors.
Semir Osmanagic is not in doubt: "The excavations at the Visoko Valley will eventually reveal that the world's biggest pyramid is to be found in Bosnia - the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun."
Touring the capitals of Europe, Osmanagic has explained to an audience who unlike himself have not studied pyramids for the last 20 years, that nobody believed there were pyramids in Mexico and Guatemala until almost 150 years after they were actually discovered. "The Great Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan, near to Mexico City was 200 years ago, covered by a thick layer of dirt, clay and vegetation exactly like the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun is today. It was a historical revolution." At the moment the most crucial question is if the pyramids are manmade or if they are results of a natural geological process of transformation.
On the homepage of the foundation, the evidence of the Bosnian pyramid valley is explained as follows: Numerous layers of evidence indicate that the mound Visoko represents an ancient colossal structure with a readily recognizable pyramid shape, because of:
• Visually symmetric geometry;
• Precise orientation to all four cardinal directions;
• Geo-sedimentary composition of evidence from the ground;
• Analysis of satellite images;
• Analysis of satellite thermal images which suggests the characteristics of an artificial construction;
• Resident reports revealed the presence of massive, shaped stone blocks, bound with crumbly mortar, covered "passageways" and "holes" in the vicinity of home foundations that were erected near the base of the hill;
• Complex of underground tunnels: Ravne-Visocica-Plješevica-Krstac;
• Peculiar fluvial/erosive geomorphology observed on the Visocica hill.;
• Characteristic "resonance" of Visocica under shelling during the last war;
• Symmetric terraces on a high-resolution geodesic elevation map.
Even though the evidence is growing every day, Semir Osmanagic and the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation still have to deal with critics and skepticism. Though the arguments are seldom directed towards the archaeological and scientific disclosures. It surfs mostly on the speculative level that the Bosnian 'pyramid valley' are a hoax and only representing a Bosnian dream of tourism and western material welfare. But since most of the criticism> comes from some of the most prominent Egyptian archaeologists and Egyptologists sent to research on behalf of the Egyptian ministry of tourism, the opposite counts as well. Namely, that from all countries the discovery holds the biggest threat against Egypt because of the sudden tourist competition. The voice of the critics has been drastically diminished the last 12 months since six of the most upfront Egyptologists have visited the Visoko valley and recognized that what they saw there is indeed manmade.
Visitors in the pyramid valley now have the chance to see the pavement surrounding the down-most plateau of the Pyramid of the Sun, the massive stone edge of the eastern corner of the pyramid, the inscriptions on a stone, which in fact is an old map of the Visoko valley and the ten kilometre long secret tunnel system underneath the valley and much more.
"The moment in our investigation we are all waiting for is of course when we will find a passage to get inside the pyramid and to find the sacred chambers or what ever will be there." says Semir.
About the future
Semir Osmanagic has been called 'the Indiana Jones of the Balcan' and yet he might soon be entitled to call himself the Colombo of the Balcan, if his visions about the pyramid project are shown to be in alignment with the facts.
"My idea for the future of this project is that it will stay completely open to the public, as it has been so far. Day by day more archaeologists will gather here with their students from universities from all over the world: Americans, Europeans, Egyptians, Russians and so on. We will create a chain of intellectual force and thereby also the attention from economical resources to our pyramids." says Semir to Natha.net.
The consequences of the Bosnian pyramids discovery for our writing of history will not be known before we have a clear dating of the pyramids and who built them. The archaeological establishment and the official historical texts can still hide behind the usual uncertainty of historical sites. Nonetheless if Semir Osmanagic is right and the Bosnian pyramids turn out to be older than the Giza constructions it will demand nothing less than a complete re-evaluation of the world history and the history of mankind. And it will create a new opening towards the non-Darwinist theories of origin and different alternative theories about the beginning of our civilization.
And according to Semir, what is even more fundamental will be the revelation of our own culture and history as being far from the highlight of a much longer history of the existence of human civilizations than what we recognize today:
"How dare we pretend even to understand what these devices or structures were used for. They managed to build something which even with our most advanced technology we can not build today, so how can we pretend to grasp their perspective on life from their superior state of being" concludes Semir.
Semir Osmanagic and Sead Maslo,
Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Since there is almost nothing in the mainstream media about the Bosnian pyramid valley and the development of the site, we encourage you to follow the project and the daily news on the homepage of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation:

When we requested JP to publish our reply to the accusations against us, the newspaper argued that if Natha wants their reply to be published in the paper, they must make an official request in accordance with a specific legal formulation. By doing so, the paper tried to use bureaucratic excuses to delay and prevent us from the right to reply to the accusations against us. Therefore, we formulated an official request for reply, as stipulated by law, and sent it to JP. Here is this request for reply to one of the articles of 24th May, just in case JP finds another excuse for denying our right to reply.
Dear Jørn Mikkelsen, Editor (Ansvarhavende chefredaktør) of JP
In the article appearing on the front page of JP, from 24.5.09, having the title ''Public funding to people behind sex-sect'', there are several serious mistakes and wrong information, which is causing slander to the name and reputation of Natha yogacenter, its teachers and students. Therefore, we respectfully insist that you shall correct these mistakes by providing the correct information to your readers, by posting a correction in your paper, and in order to undo the damage which had been done by your paper to the work and reputation of so many people. We insist that you give this correction the same weight which you have given the misleading article – by giving it the same place and space in the paper.
Request for reply under the Media Liability Act, Section 36:
The news-paper JP, on 24.5.09, on page 1, article ''Public funding to people behind sex-sect'', published the following information:
1. title: ''Public funding to people behind sex-sect''
2. sub-title: ''Copenhagen commune has in many years been funding a yoga school that is controlled by a Romanian sect-like organisation, which is earning money on sex-services and participation in porn movies''
3. ''The leisure-time-administrators of Copenhagen commune is being accused of being naive and putting their ‘checking-duty’ aside, because the commune is giving around 600.000kr every year to a yoga school, Natha Yoga Center, which according to ex-members from the schools inner-circle is being controlled by a Romanian sex-sect, MISA.''
4. '' In Romania it (MISA) is being accused for trading with women, prostitution and anti-Semitism.''
5. ''The newspaper, Jyllands-posten, can today document how several of the teachers from the yogaschool in copenhagen has been, or still are, earning money on such things as strip shows and porn movies which is supposed to be part of a spiritual development, but which according to the critics is to earn money for the sect.''
6. ''The Priest, Tom Thygesen Daugaard, that once was the leader of the Christian dialogcenter, has been following the development in the organisation says: “It is very naive of Copenhagen Commune to give money to Natha without investigating what is behind. Behind it is a totalitarian sect-organisation which are manipulating young seeking (like people looking for the meaning with their life etc and therefore are very open etc) humans, and are running different sex-services. There are reasons to strongly advice young people against approaching the organisation.''
The information is wrong because:
AD 1a. Natha is not a sect of any kind. No authority on the subject has ever defined Natha as a sect. The sources which are brought in the article and which make this statement are clearly not reliable or authorities on the matter, and therefore cannot provide the grounds of labeling Natha in such a way.
The 'ex-members of the school' are in fact two persons who have their own clear interest to defame Natha:
1.Kim Schmock – who has a legal dispute with Natha over a property of 4-5 million Kroner;
2. ''Jesper'' – who has a personal vendetta against several instructors from Natha, for reasons which are personal to him.
The other source in the article which is supporting this affirmation is Tom Thygesen Daugaard from ''Dialog Center'' – this can not be considered an authority on the subject of sects and religions, since academically recognized authorities on the subject, such as - Mikael Rothstein professor of the science of religion at university of Copenhagen (www.skeptica.dk/1999/rothstein.htm) , Peter Lodberg president of the All Danish Church Council (www.kristeligt-dagblad.dk/artikel/14029:--Dialogcentret-kritiserer-for-ensidighed), and Tim Jensen of Syddansk Universitet (www.kristeligt-dagblad.dk/artikel/14029:--Dialogcentret-kritiserer-for-ensidighed) – all regard them as very questionable sources. Professor Rothstein even states ''The DC is devoid of any scientific expertise and it would therefore be completely grotesque if Danish authorities listened to their opinions on others'' (http://www.kristeligt-dagblad.dk/artikel/14050:Kirke---tro--Vrede-over-centers-advarsel-mod-frikirker). Therefore, there is not provided any reliable support for such a serious affirmation. We remind you that the journalist ethical code, section A, point 2, states ''Criticism should be exercised to news sources, especially when their statements may be coloured by personal interest or injurious intent'' – this has not been done.
AD 1b. There are clear evidence that Natha is not a sect - priest Karl Eric Nylund. Doctor of theology and arguably Sweden's foremost authority on sects, following a special investigation which was done by the request of the Swedish Supreme Court, has concluded in his official report that MISA and the other yoga schools which are a part of the Atman International Yoga Federation (Natha being one of those schools) are not sects and that they have nothing in common with the structure of a sect: "...Therefore, in the MISA case, we can find none of the criteria defining manipulative sects.'' (www.natha.dk/en/news/press-release-coming-soon/swedish-expert-karl-erik-nylunds-report-on-misa-and-gregorian-bivolaru.html). Swedish Sociologists from the research company Skop-Research made an investigation of both Natha and MISA. This investigation was lead by Dr. Örjan Hultåker, and concluded that neither Natha nor MISA may be considered as sects: ''Given that this movement lacks any revolutionary ideology and it is part of society there is no reason to consider it a sect.'' (http://www.yogaesoteric.net/content.aspx?item=3865?=EN).
AD 1c. There is also no proof that Natha is an organization which is focused on sex. The only sources which are supporting these claims are unreliable and invalid – in this context all that was stated in point AD 1a. is valid also for this point. Supplementary, the curriculum of the courses that are thought in Natha are available (www.natha.dk/da/news/press-release-coming-soon/appendix-1-curricculum-1st-year-yoga-courses.html) and prove that the sexual topic is little represented in the program and only as theory related to the spiritual improvement of the sexual experience.
AD 2a. Natha yoga center is not controlled by any Romanian sect-like organization – it is not controlled by any organization at all. As Natha's statues clearly show, it is a non-profit, ''people enlightening association'' with democratic institutions. Natha is a part of the Atman International Yoga Federation, with which it has a collaboration in respect to teaching material, however, Natha is completely independent from an administrative and financial perspective.
AD 2b. The yoga school MISA (the ''Romanian organization'' that the article refers to) is not a sect-like organization. As proof, we mention the information which is presented in point AD 1b.
AD 2c. Natha yoga center has never earned money from sex-services or porn movies, nor had it ever been involved in such activities.
AD 2d. There is no real proof for these accusations (the accusations to which points AD 2a, AD 2b and AD 2c answer): Natha being controlled by another organization, MISA being a sect-like organization, Natha earning money from sex-services and porn movies. The only sources which are supporting these claims are very questionable – all that was stated in point AD 1a. is also valid for this point.
AD 2e. If this statement is in the quality of factual information – it should be supported by hard evidence, yet this is not done anywhere in the article. If this statement is in the quality of a comment by an individual – it should be made clear that that is the case, since as it is put in the article, it induces the impression of being factual information, when in reality it is not. We remind you that the journalist ethical code, section A, point 5, states: ''It should be clear what is factual information and what is comment'' – this was not done.
AD 2f. These accusations were already directed against Natha in the past (15.11.04) by Dialog Center. Even in spite of the fact that DC had just made their slandering attack, Københavns Kommune still started the standard process of recognizing Natha Yogacenter as a People enlightening association with a thorough investigation of all the courses and workshops of the school. Natha yoga center started to receive support from the Commune in May 2005, following an investigation which took place from November 2004 until May 2005. This is indicating that the Commune found no proof for these accusations. This is clear and official proof to the falsity of the claim in this segment of the article.
AD 3a. Natha yoga center is not controlled by MISA. Natha and MISA are both members in the Atman International Federation of Yoga, and are having a collaboration in regards to the teaching material, yet are completely independent form each other from an administrative and financial perspective. As Natha's statues clearly show, it is a non-profit, ''people enlightening association'' with democratic institutions.
AD 3b. MISA is not a sect of any kind. See point AD 1b.
AD 3c. The sources for this affirmation are highly questionable - the 'ex-members of the school' are in fact two persons who have their own clear interest to defame Natha:
1.Kim Schmock – who has a legal dispute with Natha over a property of 4-5 million Kroner;
2. ''Jesper'' – who has a personal vendetta against several instructors from Natha, for reasons which are personal to him.
The Journalist ethical code, section A, point 2, states: ''Criticism should be exercised to news sources, especially when their statements may be coloured by personal interest or injurious intent'' – therefore, these sources could not be used in the article in this way. The journalist ethical code, section A, point 1, states: ''It is mass media's duty to bring accurate and fast information. So far it is possible, it should check whether the information given is correct'' – this was not done.
AD 4a. There are no accusations against MISA in Romania – there is a trial against 21 yoga teachers and yoga students from MISA.
AD 4b. The accusations in the above mentioned trial are not as stated in the article. The 21 yoga students and teachers are accused of: human trafficking (strictly related to the Romanian law on “voluntary work” and they are not related to any sexual activity – according to the official documents from the trial) and constituting such a group.
AD 5a. Natha yogacenter has never earned money from such activities as strip shows or porn-movies.
AD 5b. Natha is not responsible for the actions that any yoga student or yoga teacher does in his/her private life.
AD 5c. There is no real proof to support such accusations – that such activities take place to earn money for Natha yoga center. The sources for this information are highly questionable – see point AD 1a., since all that is stated there is also valid for this point – and therefore this accusation should have not been published, conform the journalist ethical code, section A, point 2.
AD 5d. Natha is not a sect – see points AD 1a. and AD 1b.
AD 6a. Tom Thygesen Daugaard from ''Dialog Center'' cannot be considered as a reliable source: academically recognized authorities on the subject of sects, such as - Mikael Rothstein professor of the science of religion at university of Copenhagen (www.skeptica.dk/1999/rothstein.htm) , Peter Lodberg president of the All Danish Church Council (www.kristeligt-dagblad.dk/artikel/14029:--Dialogcentret-kritiserer-for-ensidighed), and Tim Jensen of Syddansk Universitet (www.kristeligt-dagblad.dk/artikel/14029:--Dialogcentret-kritiserer-for-ensidighed) – all regard the Dialog Center as very questionable sources. Therefore, this source cannot be presented as an expert on the subject of Natha, and JP should not publish such serious accusations from such an unreliable source. We remind you that the journalist ethical code, section A, point 2, states ''Criticism should be exercised to news sources, especially when their statements may be coloured by personal interest or injurious intent'' – this has not been done.
AD 6b. The accusations in this segment are completely false. Natha is not a sect, it is not controlled by a sect, it is not manipulating any body and it has never run any sex services - as proof, see points AD 1a., AD 1b., AD 1c., AD 2a., AD 2b., AD 2c.
AD 6c. The Dialog Center has already made these accusations against Natha in 15.11.04. None the less, the commune, after investigating the yoga school and its activities, arrived at the conclusion that Natha Yoga Center deserves the status of ''people's enlightening association'' – and by this indicating that they found no proof for these accusations. Therefore, the claim that “It is very naive of Copenhagen Commune to give money to Natha without investigating what is behind'' – is false. The commune has already investigated and decided that Natha yoga center deserves the status of ''people's enlightening association'' and financial support from the commune.
On behalf of Natha Yoga Center, I must therefore ask for reply under Chapter 6 of the Media Liability Act.
Please confirm that you will bring our reply as soon as possible and no later than Monday 22.6.09.

THE MODERN FORM OF INQUISITION
ONE WEEK AFTER THE SLANDEROUS ATTACKS ON NATHA YOGA CENTER NOTHING WAS PUBLISHED FROM NATHA’S SIDE OF THE STORY!!! INSTEAD THEY HAVE NOW COME OUT WITH A NEW WAVE OF STORIES AND ACCUSATIONS, BUT THIS TIME BETTER WRITTEN, AND ONLY INCLUDING A FEW LINES FROM NATHA’S REPLY.
THIS IS A FORM OF MODERN INQUISITION. In the following posts I will explain gradually this last STATEMENT.
Though the attacks on me personally do not disturb me, I am very surprised about the strange angle JP newspaper has put in their story about Sublime Erotica. Having a student in the Tantra class who is a director of art movies, and participating to a project that is trying to promote a new and generous idea (TRANSFIGURATED AND SPIRITUAL EROTICISM IN ONE OF THE LEADING COUNTRIES OF THE SEXUAL REVOLUTION) is presented as public crime! The more this campaign against NATHA unfolds, the more it looks like a “witch hunt”. First they say that NATHA is a sect (meaning it is in control of the life of all its members!) and then they attack the personal life of some persons within the organization as if it is identified with the whole school. This is a contradiction in itself! In reality the personal life of the students and teachers is their own responsibility and it is not related to the school.
The newspaper becomes in this way the tribune of A MODERN INQUISITION!
For those who are open minded I propose a simple experience: read the article in JP and then read the real project description about Sublime Erotica and you will see the difference for yourself.
The fact that a producer is learning about the tantric teachings in NATHA and engages in finding an artistic expression of some of its principles – the ones regarding the spiritualized eroticism – it is his private business and any financial connection with the yoga school is the pure fantasy of the journalist. How many times we have to explain this for the journalist to understand it and to make serious investigations before any statements?! The only reason for this behavior is a clear goal he follows: to hurt as much as possible!
The journalist is in fact trying to exploit the public sensitivity towards sex stories and to associate some emotions with the money story they desperately try to put forth. The attempt to associate the public money with the alleged sexual services is scandalous and reveals their real intentions: to harm as much as possible.
Yet i trust the discernment of the ‘kommune’ in this matter will enable them to see through the smoke screen JP is trying to create. The yoga school NATHA will not allow such allegations to go unnoticed and will help the truth to come out.
The article is again full of manipulative techniques that I will start to analyze step by step in order to reveal the real nature of all these articles.
It becomes more obvious now that the intention of the newspaper is just to discredit me and the yoga school as much as they can, however, they don’t have many reasons and therefore they force in such twisted stories.
THE STORY OF AN SMS AND HOW MUCH YOU CAN SPECULATE IT
31st OF MAY 2009 the JP published new accusations against me. Here is my first reply to the strange twisting of the truth Celia Clausen was delivering to them.
First observation is that they give her almost three pages (!!) and gave me a small box. Here is what i have said there, exactly as the newspaper received it. If necessary i will come later with a larger answer. The whole story that was presented in JP is a twisted truth adorned with lies to make it more dramatic. Therefore i am still thinking if it is necessary for me to waste more time on such personal attacks. I know what i have said and she also knows it very well. If she choose to twist it and thus serve some hidden agendas just to make herself feel good because she is not anymore a student in the school, it is her choice. She is attacking me and not the school and it is just a personal revenge.
Here are my first considerations regarding the statements made by Celia Clausen:
All the allegations are clearly defamatory and are mixed with lies about the discussions and advice I gave to Celia and “Jesper” over time. I want to mention that all that we spoke about was as friends and I was speaking only in the name of our friendship. Nobody forced Celia in any way to do anything. On the other hand, I understand friendship from the principle: “a real friend is not the one who tells you what you want to hear, but the one who tells you what you need to hear, and he/she (the friend) stands for this”.
As there is a lot of information about this issue and Mr. Borg stated he wants only a short answer – that cannot be satisfactory for this delicate matter – I will publish if necessary (and as soon as I have more time) all the details about this situation for anyone who is interested to know about it, on my blog.
A simple review of NATHA’s courses will reveal that we offer three different courses involving children: Prenatal Yoga, Yoga for mother and child, and Yoga for children. I personally supervised the formation of the curriculum of all these courses, which, for those with common sense, is an indication of my attitude towards this issue. Celia forgot to reveal that I personally invited her to meet me with one of the teachers of these courses to practice exercises for pregnant women that help for an easy pregnancy and painless birth. About this, I was advising from the perspective of the science of Tantra.
Wishing all of you LOVE and Peace

- (Legal and Media Cases)
On 24th May 2009, Danish newspaper Jyllands Posten published an article in which some serious accusations were brought against Natha Yogacenter, including its being ‘a sect’ and ‘providing sexual services’. The source of these accusations is priest Tom Thygesen Daugaard, who is associated with (and ex-leader of) an organization called Dialogcentret (The Dialogue Centre). Since this organization is spreading lies about Natha Yogacenter, and with the help of Jyllands Posten is pretending to be an objective expert on the subject, we have decided to investigate this centre.
The result was beyond our wildest dreams! Delving further into this issue we were amazed to discover many accepted authorities on the subject consider Dialogcentret to be a sect-like group, boasting radical religious views, and being by no means objective. Contrary to their objective charade, this group perceives any yoga school as standing in contradiction to the ''interest of the Danish society''.
Here is an example of their views, from the main page of Dialogcentret’s website:
From Dialogue Center Website
“New-religiousness, sectarianism and relativism have in many forms and variations gained position and have become a strong religious factor in the Danish population and the Danish Society”
We found it interesting to discover that back in 2004 the same Tom Thygesen Daugaard, then called Fredriksen, wrote an article called “Natha – a Holy path to God or Prostitution?” for Dialogcentret. As the article resulted in a state investigation for libel, DC defended themselves by referring to their statutes in which they clearly define their a-priori, non-objective “critical relation to new religious movements” and “this being the premise of the article and the activities of DC1.” Note that this position is not at all declared in the article of Jyllands Posten – the same views of Dialogcentret are presented, but this time as though they are coming from an objective expert on the subject (which is far from the truth). Why was Mr. Tom Thygesen Daugaard hiding the fact that he is not an expert and just a critic aiming to make his voice heard in matters that he consider of his interest?
Furthermore, if one just reads through the papers and documents of DC and reads what the All Danish Council and leading scientific experts have to say on this subject, one will be amazed to discover who Dialogcentret really is.
The Dialogcentret (DC) is a Christian interest group fighting against the spiritual paths they consider harmful to Christian society. Their statutes define “the area of work” to be “the new religious movements and streams challenging the Church and Society". Furthermore, this work is to be done “based on the Christian Teaching and Confession, as the biblical texts and the scriptures of the old church normatively formulates them2.”
For an open minded person, does this definition not sound sectarian? It becomes more clear that if DC were to apply their own principles to their own group they should dissolve themselves.
Another relevant element from their history was in 1990 when the group addresses the Danish parliament with a plea not to give state support for Yoga, as yoga is not in the interest of Danish Society! This attitude clearly shows the “openness” and “objectivity” this group has, not to mention that this attempt to attack without discernment any yoga organization is not at all in the spirit of the same Bible to which they hypocritically refer.
DC also published a booklet called Critical Information on Hatha Yoga. This booklet can be found at: http://dci.dk.
Should such a group be considered expert in problems related to yoga, after openly declaring, based on religious motivation, their adversity to any form of yoga?
Following the activities of DC, professor of the science of religion at the university of Copenhagen, Mikael Rothstein, finds them “developing towards an autonomous sect within the protestant tradition. (…) many priests do not in any way wish to be identified with the group and the ambition to create their own marked profile becomes ever more evident. At the confessional level there are barely alterations, but DC seems to accentuate things more ardently, thus bringing back concepts such as “redemption”, “a lost soul” and “guilt” to the theological vocabulary. (…) at the time DC intensifies the ambition to be something unique and special, to administrate the best of opinions and to become the centre for the one new, pure revival movement3.”
Does this sound familiar? Isn't this the same kind of accusations DC made about Natha Yogacenter?
In response to DC’s own initiative to suggest actions to the Danish authorities, Rothstein replies: “It is a scandal. The DC is devoid of any scientific expertise and it would therefore be completely grotesque if Danish authorities listened to their opinions on others4.”
Peter Lodberg, president of the All Danish Church Council, does not approve of DC’s methods: “In the All Danish Church Council we have chosen the diametrically opposing method. For us, the premise is to solve controversies and difficult questions in a common dialogue5.”
Tim Jensen of Syddansk Universitet finds the actions of DC to be symptoms of inner and outer crisis, which is typical for authoritarian groups following the death of their charismatic leaders. After the death of the founder Johannes Aagaard the group split in two, today’s DC being the more fundamentalist of them. Jensen says: “Like for many religions, it was a problem for them to lose their charismatic leader. At the same time, the media now has more options for opinions on new religions.” He also points to their recent actions as attempts to regain a position in the media after the increased interest in Islamic groups has marginalized DC and their mission in the public view6.
This is also the reason why DC was so keen to participate in the slander campaign about Natha Yogacenter, this being the only way their voice has a chance to be heard. This hunt for an opportunity to gain some public attention was also evident in their previous attempts to create public opinion against Natha Yogacenter, especially since Natha has become a big center for yoga and spirituality and therefore a good opportunity.
In conclusion, we concede that using DC as an expert on Natha Yogacenter is just another malevolent action by the Jyllands Posten journalist in his writing the articles on Natha. All of this information was supposed to come to the attention of the journalist during his investigation and we cannot believe that it was by mistake that it didn't.
We hope that through this we have made the truth about what hides behind DC's “expert” opinions clearer.

The following is a synthesis of the traditional teachings about meditation. This is not a meditation technique but general rules to be followed for entering the meditation state.
Most people can successfully practice aerobics or body building, for instance, without knowing human anatomy or without understanding at all what they are doing or why. Unfortunately (or, perhaps, fortunately), this is not so with yoga and meditation. Without knowing exactly the nature of this process it is impossible to correctly realize it and therefore there can be no true meditation.
Meditation is the highest yoga practice (this does not mean it is difficult!). In fact, very few people can really meditate, and this for two main reasons:
Very few know exactly what meditation is
Even fewer are willing to comply with it (lack of motivation).
Not everybody that stays motionless with the eyes closed is meditating. Meditation is an accurate science, therefore it cannot be practiced in total ignorance. Only those who study it with a serious inner motivation can successfully practice it.
Keep in mind that meditation, especially in the first stages, must have an object. Without object to meditate upon, there is no meditation. The simplest object of meditation is a physical object (a pot, a drawing, a ball, etc.). In more advanced stages, the objects of meditation become ever more subtle:
mental images created at will, a piece of information, a problem that needs a solution, a feeling, a thought, an idea, a subtle energy, a state of consciousness, etc. In this material the word "object" will refer to any of these.
An important point here is that the object of meditation has to be very well perceived by the subject. In other words, the object must have a clear objective or subjective reality. A very vaguely defined idea cannot function as an object of meditation. The subject (the practitioner of meditation) must be able to "take hold" of at least one of the major characteristics of the object, if not of all of them.
The steps of meditation
The ageless tradition of wisdom teaches that in order to enter the state of meditation, certain definite steps are to be followed. Nobody can enter meditation without passing through these steps. The steps are:
Dharana - mental concentration
Dhyana - meditation
Samadhi – blissful identification
In the Western Tradition, these three stages are called ‘consideratio’ ("considering"), ‘contemplatio’ ("contemplation") and ‘raptus’ ("rapture").
Each step, when mastered, naturally leads to the following step.
Dharana - mental concentration
The mind can choose
The human mind continuously receives information about the outer world through the five "gates" of the senses: smell, taste, sight, touch and hearing. Among the data received through a certain sense, the mind can select only those that are of interest at a given time. This selection is realized through focusing the attention upon that particular data and ignoring the other unimportant data.
The more the attention is focused upon a certain sense, the more the amount of information received through that sense increases and the information coming from other senses becomes ‘less important’ and can even be completely ignored by the mind.
A special characteristic of the human mind is the capacity of focusing the attention toward the inner world of feelings, thoughts and ideas. More than that, the human mind can be focused even upon itself -- this fact is of paramount importance, because it creates the possibility of controlling the mind.
This faculty of the human mind to modify at will the orientation of the conscious attention is the basic mechanism of mental concentration (dharana).
Defining the concept
"To concentrate" means to reunite into a center, to gather, to focus. Mental concentration (dharana) means to focus the mind upon a unique object without allowing it (the mind) to jump to another object for a determined period of time. The opposite of concentration is dispersion, scattering. In this case, the mind jumps uncontrolled from one object to another fixing itself to nothing. Unfortunately, this is the mental condition of most people nowadays.
The yoga theory of perception
When an outer object (artha) is perceived, the mind ‘takes the shape’ of that object. This is called a vritti.
The mind as vritti is thus an inner representation of the outer object. The initial object is called the ‘gross object’ and the mental impression is the ‘subtle object’. But besides the object, there is an aspect of the mind which perceives.
It follows that the mind has two aspects: vritti (the cognized) and the perceiver (the cognizer).
Because the mind is thus ‘transformed’ into the shape of the object perceived, the mind which meditates on a Deity, for example, is, at length, through continued concentration, transformed into the likeness of that Deity, becomes as pure and powerful as the Deity. This is a fundamental principle of worship.
Mind is movement
"Dharana" means "holding the mind." The Ageless Wisdom considers that "the mind", as we know it, is just a perpetual flow, according to definite laws, of psychic patterns (vritti-s). The train of psychic patterns has an undercurrent of emotions, doubled by a consequent physiological responses.
Actually, the mind is movement. Mind is like the wind: the wind is air movement; when this movement stops, the air is still there, but the wind disappeared. The mental-stuff that remains after the psychic patterns (vritti-s) have been stopped is called citta. When the mental patterns (vritti-s) are stopped, the mind disappears: we enter the no-mind state. No-Mind (which actually means ‘beyond the mind’) is the state of the highest creativity and spiritual intuition.
Patanjali defined yoga as follows: yoga [is] citta vritti nirodha.
Yoga Sutra, I, 1
That is, yoga is the gradual stoppage (nirodha) of the vritti-s (mental patterns) of citta.
This sutra contains the essence of the whole yoga Science and the secret of mental concentration.
Maybe ignorance and prejudices make you believe that you cannot concentrate your mind. This is not true! Everybody can concentrate, even deeply, upon an object that is highly interesting for that person.
The question is: is this type of concentration the yoga concentration? Even though it can give you helpful hints about the real state of dharana (mental concentration), this is not what yoga understands by concentration.
Dharana means to be able to focus at will the mind and to maintain it focused for long periods of time upon any object, even if this object does not spontaneously catch our curiosity.
Do not force it!
For training yourself in dharana, the most important rule is: do not force the mind to stay focused. The mind is like a crazy monkey: the more you try to calm it by force and to make it stay on a definite place, the more it will refuse to do that, doing exactly the opposite: jumping even more crazily form one place to another. Therefore start focusing the mind very softly upon the chosen object and when it jumps to another object just bring it back calmly and patiently, with humor and compassion at your lack of discipline. If you get angry about this continuous mental jumping, this will only increase the mind's tendency to disperse.
The ideal state
Perfect mental concentration implies to focus completely the whole potential of attention -- without using any force or mental/nervous tension -- upon the chosen object for a definite period of time, allowing no dispersion at all. This state is analogous to the phenomenon of focusing sunlight through a lens: the light rays are gathered in a small point, thus enormously increasing their power. Here, the time element is very important: if the light is perfectly concentrated but this state lasts a very short time, nothing can happen. The point of focused light must be maintained continuously a certain time - only after that the effects can appear (for instance, the lighting of a piece of wood). In a similar way, dharana must be maintained a certain period of time: only after that concentration starts the process of resonance with the corresponding cosmic energy and the consequent transfer of that energy into your being. The energy carries feelings and information related to the object of concentration.
How to start
Sit in a comfortable posture with the spine and neck kept straight and vertical. Close your eyes and pass through the following steps:
1. Relax quickly and deeply from bottom to top. Let your attention swiftly scan
your body and release all tensions.
2. Let your breathing become calm and peaceful.
3. Turn the attention inward (introversive gaze) and disconnect yourself from the
outer disturbing factors (noises, etc.);begin to withdraw the mind from any
thoughts that arise (as a result of the activity of the senses) by making a brief but
detetrmined effort to stop the discursive thinking;
4. Concentrate the mind (dharana) upon the object of your choice.
Let's examine in greater detail dharana. Empty your mind of all thoughts. Then bring the chosen object before your inner mind's eye. Don't allow the mind to jump to another object or thought. If this happens, calmly and patiently bring your mind back to your object. This is the only thing you are supposed to do during dharana: to keep the mind focused upon the object. Beware of force or tension! Be calm, open and favorably inclined to concentrate.
Mental concentration is a static process: during concentration the mind is ‘frozen’, the thinking is stopped, the mental activity is suspended. The only mental movement should be to bring gently the mind back to the chosen object when it jumps away. Mental concentration can be described as "doing nothing". You understand now that it is not laziness, but "just sitting" with a purpose. During dharana, the mind is like a mirror: the only activity is to reflect the object.
"During Concentration (dharana), the mind is like a pure crystal that takes the color of the object upon which it is placed."
Learn to perceive
Consider carefully the object of concentration: approach it with astonishment and childlike curiosity as if you don't know anything about it (do we really know something important about the objects of the outer world?). Do NOT approach the object rationally and/or intellectually, but grasp its essence with your feelings alone or even solely by instinct. Explore the object non-verbally, in a state of alert passivity, purposeless and unconcerned waiting, child-like curiosity and sheer astonishment. There is only you and the object: nothing is expected from you, everything is expected from the object.
Therefore sit in a state of continuously euphoric expectation, in the highest state of readiness. This is very important. Let yourself be absorbed into, and by, the object. Do not try to define, to judge or to understand, just consider the object with curiosity as if you see it for the very first time. The very fact that you cannot define exactly the object and do not understand it rationally, opens you toward the object and creates the state of mental receptivity in which intuition ("no-mind" or "superconsciousness", as it is also called) can start to function. By doing so, you will soon discover that the objects of the surrounding world have thousand meanings (that come in flashes). We normally overlook these meanings. Every thing is thus full of a sheer wonder and fascinating mystery that you will start to grasp gradually, everything is sustained by an invisible energy that you will start to feel and effortlessly control.
Mental concentration (dharana) is a modality of starting a process of resonance and attuning with the subtle cosmic energies of which the object of concentration is just a visible manifestation. Do not try to speed up this process: let it start by itself when the time comes.
In this approach, knowledge comes from the object, NOT from the subject (the practitioner). Concentration is lying in wait, watching hyperattentively, like a cat that waits for the mouse to get out from its hiding place: the unforeseen can happen any split second.
Every beginning is difficult
At the beginning, you probably will discover that this exercise fails lamentably. Accept this fact as being perfectly normal. Keep in mind that in yoga there is no lost effort, in other words every effort will bring a result eventually. None of your failed efforts is wasted work. As the wise saying goes: "The mud is as valuable as the lotus flower that it nourishes."
Every failed try is in fact a step toward success because mental concentration, the same as meditation, has a cumulative effect that comes not only from doing it "well", but also from working consistently on it.
Taming the mind
At the beginning, the mind has very little stability; you find the object and then very swiftly you lose it. The mind wanders elsewhere. After a certain period of practice, sufficient stability arise in mind so that the attention will remain uninterruptedly focused on the object for short periods of time (ten-fifteen seconds, maybe more). Further on, the degree of mental stability becomes even greater than before; the mind can stay constantly focused upon the object with a reasonably good degree of stability and yet, occasionally, it will wander off. Then it will come a stage in which the mind no longer loses the object, because the power of concentration has come to completion. Now, a sustained effort to increase the clarity of mind has to be done. After this, the mind will have a tremendous power. With just the slightest bit of effort, it becomes focused upon the object and continues to abide effortlessly in it for as long as you want. Once you have attained this state, the mind has become an extremely fine instrument for any type of meditation you want to engage in.
It is like you want to ride a wild horse. The first attempts will certainly throw you down. If you persevere enough, you will succeed eventually, and after some time the horse will became a close friend and will obey even your unspoken orders. In this analogy, the wild horse is your mind and concentration is like taming and training the horse. In this respect, continuity is important.
Dhyana - the state of meditation
"Dhyana (meditation per se) is the continuous flow of the mental processes toward the object (of meditation)."
" Dhyana is the continuous flow of reflection [i.e., ‘mirroring’] with respect to the essential reality of the object (of meditation)."
Ratnatika, (a tantric text)
The mental laser
Dhyana is an effortless flow of the mind spontaneously directed toward the object. Dhyana (meditation) is a dynamic process: during it, the mental processes (thoughts, ideas, etc.) are turning around the object of meditation, making free associations (for example) related to that particular object only. During meditation, the activity of the mind reaches a tremendously dynamic intensity and eventually becomes a laser-beam-like stream of concentrated thinking.
"An unflinching intellect, an impassive mind which cannot be dispersed by anything and which is free of any discursive thinking -- this is the state of dhyana. This adoration is identical with the absorption (in Shiva) born out of mystic ardor."
A tantric text
Dhyana (meditation) is superimposed upon dharana (mental concentration). In other words, mental concentration lasts permanently during the whole period of meditation. The purpose of mental concentration is to ‘keep the object before the mind's eye’ so to speak, and it is a static process. Meditation takes place at a higher level of mind and implies mental dynamics.
The basic principle
There is a law of mind that says that if a thought/idea prevails in mind, all the other thoughts/ideas gradually have the tendency to submit to the prevailing thought/idea. This is the basic principle of meditation. The prevailing thought is created by concentration and the movement of the mind around that particular thought is meditation.
One leads to another
Concentration and meditation, even if they seem very close, are nevertheless distinct phenomena. If you realize a good concentration, this will lead automatically to meditation, because in yoga every step, when perfectly realized, gives the key to the next step. Do not force or do not try to accelerate the process of passing from concentration to meditation. Let it come naturally: this will certainly happen after a certain period of practice. Remember: genius is an infinite patience. Be therefore patient and you will become a genius through the practice of meditation.
Analogically speaking, the mind is like a man in deep sleep. Concentration is starting to awake him, and meditation is to awake him fully and to put him to work.
How to start
1. The first step in dhyana (meditation) is dharana (mental concentration).
For some time, this might be the only step you will be able to make for meditation. Through patience and tireless practice, you will gradually discover through personal experience how to start/release the next step. Keep this in mind: at a deep level, nobody can really teach you to meditate, except yourself, applying the traditional information exposed in this material.
2. The next step is this: while keeping the dharana (concentration) state of mind, let go of it, allow your thoughts to move freely, to make connections, associations. Don't you think that you have to do something for this: just be mentally alert and realize the spontaneous and effortless transition from the motionless reflection (dharana) to the dynamic thinking (dhyana).
You will discover that now your mind will not jump any more at random but, on a lower level, dharana (concentration) will be sustained almost effortlessly and, on a higher level, the thoughts will start to move, to revolve around the object only. This is dhyana (meditation).
At the beginning, the movement of your mind around the object will probably not last long. The thoughts will start to revolve around the object in flashes, then will stop, leaving you with concentration only. After a while, other flashes of thought movement occur, then stop, and so on. This is normal at the beginning. This means your sleeping mind starts to awake and then falls asleep again. After some time of practice, the periods of thought movement will become longer and longer, ending eventually in a continuous thought movement. Then you reach the true state of meditation (dhyana).
It is necessary here to realize that "movement", in this context, has a rather special connotation. Generally speaking, when we think about something that moves, we picture this movement as taking place in time. This is not true in the case of meditative thought movement: what really occurs is a flash of awareness which does not take place in time, because it is a manifestation of the timelessness simultaneity of consciousness.
Meditation is the living of HERE and NOW; it is a tremendous experience with limitless power, which can change your life completely and can give a new course to your destiny. Meditation is a superior state of consciousness and therefore cannot be fully understood unless experienced.
The real purpose
Keep in mind this important thing: meditation is not meant to relax the body, to cure illnesses or to get rid of fatigue and stress, as some "meditators" believe. It is perfectly true that meditation can do these things and even much more, beyond the wildest imagination, but as a secondary effect only. The authentic purpose of meditation is to attain knowledge, understanding and wisdom. The genuine goal is gnosis (in Greek, ‘knowledge’), which is not merely a knowledge of things but mainly a spiritual insight into their essential nature.
Samadhi - blissful identification
We saw that dhyana (meditation) is the continuous flow of mental processes toward the object of meditation. This process leads gradually to a blissful identification (co-penetration of the object of meditation with the practitioner's own being). This is the highest state, called samadhi. In samadhi the mind, continuously and to the exclusion of all other objects, assumes the nature and becomes one with the object.
In samadhi, only the object awareness remains, as if the consciousness of individuality disappears. Actually, the individuality of the practitioner does not disappear (it would be impossible!), but the practitioner's consciousness blissfully identifies with the object of meditation. In samadhi, the mind and consciousness of the yogin become one with the object.
There is no more awareness of mental functioning (the mind apparently enters into a state of void, emptiness). There is no more awareness of personal individuality as being separate form the object. Now, the practitioner feels that there is no more difference between "object" and "me." This dichotomy is now impossible.
"As salt being dissolved in water becomes one with it, so when atma (the Supreme Self) and Mind become one, it is called samadhi."
Hatha Yoga Pradipika, IV, 5
"The equality and oneness of the Essential Self (atma) and the Cosmic Self (param atma) is called samadhi, to describe which is beyond the power of speech, being known by self-experience alone."
Hatha Yoga Pradipika, IV, 7, 32
"[Samadhi is] that form of dhyana in which it is neither 'here' nor 'not here', in which there is illumination and stillness as of some great ocean, and which is the Great Void (shunya) Itself."
Kularnava Tantra, IX, 9
The triangle of meditation
During dhyana (meditation), there is awareness about the knower (the practitioner of meditation), the known (the object of meditation) and the knowledge that arises in mind about the object of meditation. These three are distinct.
The triangle absorbed in a point
In samadhi, knower, known and knowledge fuse, merge one into another, become one.
Samadhi is an intuitive cognition referring to what is directly present, it is he immediacy of the replicative experience, the non-intermediateness of perception. This means that here perception is realized somehow without using any of the intermediary channels (like, for example, the senses, the mind, the intellect, etc.), and this is why this experience is perceived as identity.
Samadhi is a state of undifferentiated identity with the object to be known, a self-detaching immersion into its meaning. In this state, the yogin experiences that state of consciousness in which he perceives the undifferentiatedly unique substratum of all things, creatures and worlds. The part is discovered to be the whole, every unit is present in any other units, everything is a part of the fullness of which the experiencer represents an epitome. The yogin who has brought this process to its completion is able to recognize the underlying and essentially unconcealed reality of the Cosmic Consciousness that composes the most intimate status of every apparently finite objects. Here the triad of knower, known and the process of knowing has been transcended. The knower (the yogin in samadhi) turns away from the object and doubles back on himself. In so doing, he creates a situation in which the object of knowing is the knower himself, and the process of knowing is also simply the knower himself. This state is sometimes described as "void" or "emptiness" (shunya) because of the contrast with the apparent fullness of objectivity (represented by the duality object-subject) that precedes it.
It is a process of progressively stripping away the outer attributes and characteristics of the object of meditation until the yogin is simply left with the sheer existential essence of that object.
This process of rediscovery of the undifferentiated unique substratum of everything that exists is a major feature of the attainment of liberation and spiritual enlightenment. No longer do finite objects appear as separate and limited structures; rather, the Consciousness out of which all things are composed surfaces and becomes visible as the true Reality of perceived objects.
"He, who has this understanding (viz., that the Universe is identical with the Self), regards the whole world as a play (of the Divine), and thus being ever united (with the Universal Consciousness) is, without doubt, liberated when alive (jivanmukta)."
Spanda Karika II, 5
A radical transformation of the perception of the external world follows. The content of the conscious entrance into samadhi is ananda -- unspeakable bliss. The practitioner comes into identity with the most interiorized consciousness of the Supreme. The reality of samadhi must be personally experienced. It is not enough to be told about it or to attempt to imagine it (it would be impossible, anyway!). The truth of this statement without the direct experimentation of it is only a quarter of truth.
Samyama - the absorptive meditation
Samyama means to simultaneously perform dharana (concentration), dhyana (meditation) and samadhi (identification).
"By mastering samyama, the light of superconsciousness rises."
Dharana is the stationing of the mind at one spot. Dhyana is the continuously gradual absorption of the mind into the object.
Samadhi is the complete immersion of the mind into that object. The three are inseparably linked: from dharana to samadhi there is a continuous process, whose purpose is the assimilation of the object, just as one assimilates the food one eats. In samyama, one enters the object and becomes aware of its essence in a knowledge by identity (prajna).
An effortless expansion of consciousness takes place in samyama. In this state we learn to spread ourselves out into a sky-like expanse of peace and tranquillity, and then, on the background of that expanse, to allow the knowledge of our object of concentration to rise up by itself, as if we would be that object.
Watch the movieTo understand samyama easier, let's make an analogy with a motion-picture film.
Let's suppose you can stop the film on a certain frame (a single exposure) that shows the main protagonist. Thus you can study as long as you want the motionless frame. This stage corresponds to dharana (concentration).
Then you let the movement of the movie start again. You are able now to follow the image you have studied during the stopping of the film, to see the links of that image with the action of the movie, to integrate that image into a continuous flow of action. This stage corresponds to dhyana (meditation).
Following the action of the movie, you participate emotionally, you identify yourself with what happens (you feel sad if it is a tragedy, you laugh if it is a comedy, etc.). This identification corresponds to the beginning of samadhi.
A new way of knowing
In samyama, the practitioner discovers that the stream of his thoughts is charged with a harmonious and beatific emotion. The yogin not only "sees" the object of his samyama, but also "feels" it with a strange intensity, as if he absorbed now that object and the object absorbed him. The yogin merges, at a subtle level, into the reality of that object, as if the object’s identity has blended with his own. This is samyama, which is the most complete method of intuitive knowledge ("intuitive" means "to enter, to place oneself inside").
Here are a few hints about the state of samyama:
Naivety - leading to selfless identification with the object, through absorption.
Aspiration to reach the Reality that is beyond the limitations of personal ego; you become the channel of manifestation of that Reality. Allow it to speak for itself, without interrupting. Become "transparent" to it.
Samyama is leading to understanding by becoming, not by thinking. Dwelling upon only one topic or idea at a time (so, it is the very opposite of "thinking about") and the absorption of the practitioner into the idea upon which he dwells.
The process of knowledge is released by the object, not by the subject. This is non-verbal, non-conceptual knowledge.
In samyama the mind is like a mirror: it grasps nothing, it refuses nothing, it receives but does not keep, it adds nothing.
Do not "translate" into spoken language what you experience during samyama; this is a new kind of experience, gained outside the usual ways.
Samyama is a new way of being into the world, a new way of perceiving and relating to the Reality through shifting to a higher state of consciousness. It is seeing the Reality the way it is, finding it in a thoughtless state of mind rather than inventing or imagining it with the aid of discursive thinking.
Find your pleasure in doing samyama every day, and forget about the results: think that there is no real purpose in meditation; this attitude will greatly accelerate your success.
Meditation in Relationship to everday Life
Sitting with the eyes closed is the most convenient way for beginners to control their wandering minds. However, when you get to know, even to a small extent, how to exercise this control while sitting quietly in meditation, you must continue to do so while walking, standing or performing any of the everyday life activities.
This is realized by splitting your attention in two, and using one part of it for your inner meditation and the other part for your daily activity. You will discover that, contrary to the appearances, your daily activity will become much more meaningful and highly efficient. The meditation that goes on inwardly and the subsequent state of tranquillity provides an energetic support and gives meaning to your outward activity.
If meditation bears no relationship to everyday life, what good is it? A meditation that ignores the society is meaningless and not good to anybody. Meditation in the midst of activity means bringing the whole world into your meditation. The true practice of meditation has nothing to do with whether one sits in a quiet place or not, closes his eyes or not, is in solitude or not.
Meditation in the midst of activity is immeasurably superior to the quietistic approach. This kind of meditation really produces significant inner transformation and enlightenment. Of course, meditating in the midst of distractions is initially much more difficult -- with fewer short-term rewards -- than sitting quietly alone. However, if you want to make the heightened awareness of meditation a part of your life, then you must meditate in daily life continuously, you must remain inwardly in meditation no matter what you do outwardly.
Frequently you may feel that you are getting nowhere with the practice of meditation in the midst of activity, whereas the quietistic approach brings unexpected and quick results. Yet rest assured that those who use the quietistic approach only can never hope to enter meditation in the midst of activity, which is the true meaning of meditation.
The quietistic meditation tends to separate our spiritual life from our daily life, and this is merely hiding from reality. A true yogin or yogini (a female practitioner of yoga) does not do that.

How a personal drama became a universal hatred
by Maria Nicola
Motto : “Often, we chase illusions instead of facing our own inner world”.
I like to think that I lift myself, somewhere over the world, and I look at it with love and detachment. Everything seems a dark, tormented, distorted turmoil.
There are still people who are worth admiring, there are still pure souls, and there is still hope, love and faith. These aspects are more precious as they are rarer. But gazing from above the world, one cannot ignore how, when a light center appears, almost every time the bitter forces of evil, hatred and wrath attack it in a mad way.
Anybody can inflict pain, emotionally, but how many can heal?
It seems that the precipice of the human decadence has no bottom. It is so obvious in the present world! So much drama, so much misery, so much decadence and somewhere at the twisted roots of the world still lives the hope. This tormented era is the one where, with a sincere enthusiasm, and a brave dedication, great souls can sip the entire life’s spirit, in their hearts, and can separate themselves from all this suffering, from all this mess, from this entire meaningless circus. But it is also the era where the perverted souls can fall in the bottomless abysses of stupidity, nothingness, meanness and hatred.
The sheer show of the human nature seems fascinating, but also terrible and full of teachings. What makes people who have equally, in front of their eyes the path of light and the path of evil choose the evil, the darkness, the decadence, when, once they select this option, they choose agony and suffering? Whoever thinks that the vice, the meanness, the perversions, the decadence can lead to goodness and happiness ever, is dreadfully mistaken!
But, of course, it is easier to go with the flow, than swim against the current. It is much easier to follow a herd, than walk on your own. Anybody can cause pain, but how many can heal? It is easy to roll off, but one needs to put an effort to climb the steep slope of the mountain. It is easier to destroy than to build. It is easier to get bitter against something than to build something creative. And, unfortunately, for some people it is easier to hate than to love. The fact that for these last ones is easier to lie than to tell the truth doesn’t surprise anybody anymore.
Among all the persons who build a sad vocation of hating this YOGA school, there is one who seems to have truly explored the abysses of stupidity, wading daily in the darkest, the most desperate and the dirtiest pits of the perversion of the human being. Cecilia Ghitulescu Tiz- the person that we are talking about- is a vivid and pathetic image of the suffering and of the pointless aspect that hatred is impregnating in a fatal way, on the human beings who let themselves poisoned and tarnished by hatred and meanness. Her story is petty, dirty and insignificant. And here we are not referring to her story of a human being. But to the excuses that she is inventing to feed and justify the daily overflows of meanness and stupidity from the site against MISA, out of which she built a way of life already.
Cecilia Ghitulescu Tiz plays the role of a victim
Mainly, if we regard this story full of compassion, she is a woman who was “cheated” by her husband and who provokes a public scandal, partially- so she can appear as a victim. Probably, her husband searched for a lover, because he was exceptionally fulfilled and happy with this flawless woman – the way she thinks she is- and felt the need to share this happiness with the others?! In this case, instead of acting as an intelligent woman and manifesting full of love, trying to amplify certain qualities and to solve her problems in order to harmonize her couple relationship, our little Cecilia chooses to avenge herself. To avenge on anything that she thinks that could make her husband be an independent and vertical man, able to escape his psychotic wife. Frankly speaking, how many persons could live near such a bitter woman, who is on the verge of madness? Especially when they know that they have a choice…
She says that her husband left her. She states that MISA is responsible for this and that this fact destroyed her life. A sad event, but lived probably by millions of women, became an “international tragedy” and thus, she started a war to expose the “guilty ones”. In a similar way, we can imagine Cecilia Sarkozy, ex first lady of France, exposing the immorality of the French politics and of the “Union for a Popular Movement” for the failure of her marriage. The same happens with Mioara Roman, recently divorced from Petre Roman, who probably accuses her ex husband’s new party, as she was publicly cheated by the one along whom she lived a whole life. Adriana Bahmuteanu is probably blaming the dustmen company of Silviu Prigoana, every time she is separating herself from her husband.
Scoundrel – a fake, two faced, intriguer woman
Caught in the amplitude and the intensity of this undifferentiated revenge, this woman attacks bitterly, anything that she thinks it can be the cause of this personal failure, but she forgets to look for the reasons in herself – the only place where she could really find them. The husband, the husband’s friends, YOGA, the YOGA school, the YOGA instructors, the YOGA school leader – Gregorian Bivolaru - all of them are “labeled” one by one, as the scapegoat. Gregorian Bivolaru especially, is demonized, insulted, ridiculed. After years of faking being a yogi, who knows why (as after the separation from her husband she didn’t practice yoga at all), Cecilia discovers that she hates Grieg, and she has been despising him for years. And when he is exposing her attitude of DIRTY BITCH, our Cecilia becomes absurdly proud of this title, otherwise so appropriate for her.
We wonder if she knows what SCOUNDREL means. It means a fake, two faced, vicious, and bastard like individual, scalawag, punk, villain, wretched, loafer, dung, rascal person, or more academically a person without character, callow, and who lacked dignity. From all these alternatives that the explanatory dictionary of the Romanian language offers us, maybe “scalawag” and “loafer” do not fit the context too well, but the others describe perfectly the Cecilia Ghitulescu Tiz’s life and activity. And she is delighted with herself, she states that she is not worthless, a two faced person, an intriguer, a bastard, a person without God. She took upon herself to bring these character features at an archetypal, macrocosmical level, self-entitling “super-scoundrel” and showing, publicly a self portrait where she has little horns and a Halloween outfit (photo, below). But, from her story, Cecilia skipped many juicy details. We would like to know why she didn’t tell ever how she used to beg Gregorian Bivolaru to baptize her child. Or about the innumerous (refused) passes that she made on Him?! All these aspects lack from her “revelations” from the anti MISA site. We wonder, naturally, about her obsession for Gregorian Bivolaru, even if it is negative; doesn’t it hide anything else, actually?
Possessed by demonic entities or informer?
How sad, hysteric and stupid can a person be, if she gets to live only to hate? How much suffering is corroding her days and how many nightmares populate her nights? How can such a joke of a woman raise a child, when there is only poison and venom in her? An investigation of the German social services could establish if she was able to educate her child and what was the source of her income.
If you don’t believe in the reality of the demonic possession phenomena, this one is a pretty convincing example. In fact there are two possibilities. Either she is possessed by demonic entities, or she is in the service of some “terrestrial forces” – namely Romanian Secret Services. And in order not to say that the hypothesis is fantastic, it is worth to know that this person has emigrated during the Communist period. Uncountable archives of the Secret Services prove that the people who have emigrated during that period could do so only if they would accept to offer their services as informers. The passport was being received only after long waiting periods and only in exchange for collaborations with the State Security. In the testimonies gathered in the file for the Communist period it is stated that the Secret Services have created an “instrument” formed from hired officers of Security, and also from informers (partners or agents), who act even beyond the borders of Romania. The people who filed for emigration were blackmailed with the situation of the relatives remained in the country and who were at the mercy of a repressive system when it came for granting them departure visas. We could ask ourselves why would Cecilia Ghi?ulescu Tiz be an exception from such a sad reality.
Overzealous work on the anti-MISA site
Let’s take a look at the activity of Cecilia on the anti-MISA site. More than a third of the posts belong to her, Cecilia being by far the most active of the nine people who maintain the conversations on this website (3 of these have never been to a MISA course before)
This activity of Cecilia seems suspect not only to us. Even one of the participants to this forum is asking her: “Cecilia what kind of job have you got? Are you a house wife? You live of rents, wills? You have reached over 5.100 of postings. How many hours do you spend in the kitchen? What food do you cook? Or just buy only ready meals? When do you have time for your child? To take him to theatre, cinema, opera, concerts, parks, church, cycling, volley, pinball, ice-skating, tennis, etc. Sorry, but you really have no brains if you sacrifice your child for a forum. How many hours do you spend on the forum and how many with the family?”
Cecilia Ghi?ulescu dedicates all her time to fight, in her vision, with an organization which has over 35.000 supporters. Nine people – we speak about the nine members of the forum anti-MISA who own app. 80% posts – try to spoil it for the 35.000. What would be their motivation? Searching for an answer on this site I came across another one of Cecilia Ghi?ulescu’s reply: „And even if I would be paid to write against MISA, what would be the problem? Is this forbidden by law?”
The advices offered by Gregorian Bivolaru
Amongst the messages published by Cecilia, we come across a letter received as an answer from Gregorian Bivolaru and addressed to her. She wrote to him at the beginning of 2005, as she says: „to help me to repair my family, because I have the feeling that I am losing my mind”. The answer received speaks by itself and this is why we offer you here the most important fragments from that letter, to see for yourselves the real situation:
„..it is necessary not to forget that often the evil is in the eye of the beholder. Each time when we have met, I was looking at you in a nice and transfigurating way, yet you were looking at me badly, you were a scoundrel. Here it is not a question of not being able to, it is no need to hide, you indulged yourself in being a scoundrel […] You should know that with regard to strange feelings, there are also others who hate me to death. Beyond this I remain detached and peaceful as all these poisons and miseries do not affect me, because I know well how I really am. I feel for you an immense compassion because you are in such a poor state now; I wouldn’t want to be not even for a fraction of a second in your shoes. […] Be sure that it is almost impossible to accept the help and advice from a person you hate […] Ask someone to do a light offering for you with 21 candles for 49 days, for 21 times. Start fasting on Sundays. Be abstinent for 7 months. Do LAYA YOGA with Tara, in the morning and in the evening, one hour every day for 17 months. Do 150 NAULI, 20 minutes minimum BHUJANGASANA, 15 minutes SHIRSHASANA. Come urgently to Bucharest and take a plant treatment for the state in which you are now. Do color-therapy with the yellow and violet colors alternatively, 45 minutes daily. Go every Saturday in an orphanage and do KARMA YOGA. Take a break in the relationship with your husband for a year and a half. If you will be able to realize this TAPAS, daily and completely, for 4-5 months you will be able to recover; if not you will get from bad to worse, and I don’t want to frighten you, but you could even lose your mind entirely. May God light your mind and your heart while you still have time. You could write me only if you do this TAPAS every day from now on. I wish you good luck”
After I have read this letter it was even clearer to me that this woman, who is wailing about her destiny on thousands of pages written on the internet, has had a choice. She has had a competent advice and a series of YOGA techniques which if she had applied in good time, now she would have looked back with a smile, remembering how tragic her situation seemed. Therefore, where should we look for the “guilty one”?

INTRODUCTION TO THE OWNERSHIP CASE.
Through the last past years there has been a conflict between Kim Schmock and Natha Yogacenter concerning the ownership of the property located on Møngevej 11, 3210 Vejby, in daily terminology called Bhoga.
Since the acquisition of Bhoga in 2000, Natha yoga center has invested a lot of resources in the place, economic as well as human to build up the place, to run it and to continually improve the facilities so it could be used as Nathas course and retreat center. The formal owner of Bhoga, Kim Schmock had always said that he did not wish anything more than the expenses he had covered in the acquisition. In 2002 he signed a contract about this arrangement. Natha has during the years acted in full trust to the agreement and when Kim Schmock in the autumn of 2005 wishes to move from Bhoga he also sticks to the agreement. Sadly he deviates more and more in a couple of months from the original terms of Nathas taking over the premisis, so that his final sales offer was completely unacceptable for Natha, who had already invested 1,4 million kroner in the place, put in ca 20000 voluntary working hours to improve the buildings and facilities and who had supported the project in all kinds of ways. Therefore there is a courtcase running about the ownership of Bhoga.
FIRST BAILEFF CASE
All of a sudden in the spring 2006, after the negotiations had broken down, Kim Schmock demanded that Natha pay 27000 kr per month in rent according to a contract that had already been terminated at a board meeting in Natha in the spring of 2004, a meeting in which Kim Schmock himself had participated. He demanded that unless Natha payed according to the (terminated) contract he would terminate the contract and throw people on the street. The case ended in the Baileff court, where Kim denied ever having been in Nathas board which is a complete untruth. Kim Schmock proves this himself in an interview with "Den Nye Dialog" from August 2006 which has the headline "Natha leader speaks out"!!! Inumerable witnesses, documentation and money flow etc prove that the renting agreement between Natha and Bhoga ApS was terminated in 2004, and thereafter the inhabitants of Bhoga have run the place and covered all the costs.
SECOND BAILEFF CASE
In February 2007 the baileff court in Helsingør determined whether Kim Schmock as he claimed, rented Bhoga to Natha or to individual renters. The inhabitants of Bhoga won this case as baileff judge Lotte Tvilling assessed that the case was so complicated that it was not for a baileff court to decide whether or not the inhabitants could be kicked out or not. Such a decision should be based on clear renting agreements which obviously cannot exist when the ownership question itself is uncertain.
Chikane against Natha and the inhabitants of Bhoga
• When the negotiations regarding Nathas official taking over of the ownership of Bhoga unfortunately broke down in December 2005, (see link “court cases”), Kim Schmock still lived in Bhoga despite the fact that he had written to the other inhabitants that he would terminate his stay by December. In the course of January Kim Schmock started to chikane the inhabitants of Bhoga. He put papers up all over the place where he announced that all who did not have their official address in bhoga had to leave the place immediately. He did this well knowing that the inhabitants due to different reasons did not have their official addresses there. This had never been a problem before and all the inhabitants had moved into Bhoga with Kims knowledge and agreement. Kim Schmock continued his chikane and announced on many flyers hung up all over the place that the rooms of the people who did not have their official addresses there would be emptied and locked by the 15th January. All of this in spite of the fact that people paid rent and upheld the renting agreements. Kim Schmock then put up padlock grips on all the doors so they could be locked. He also locked the common office and the common yoga hall so that the inhabitants could no longer use these facilities, which where a part of the renting agreement. He moved peoples belongings from the common areas, closed the boiler supplying the heat to the place and locked the door to the boiler room, introduced absurd rules in which there should be “peace in the rooms” after 2230 and forbade the inhabitants the right to use the common kitchen and the common living room between 0600 and 2230!!
• When Kim Schmock finally decided to move out of Bhoga he stole the communities common money box with 20.000-30.000 kroner. The inhabitants of Bhoga have asked him many times to return the money but Kim Schmock never reacted to this.
• Bhogas official home page www.bhoga.dk was originally made by programmer Hans Hvass and described the place Bhoga. Kim Schmock had originally bought the domain which was thereafter payed by and used by the community. In the summer of 2006 Kim Schmock removed the contents of the homepage replacing them with the current content including diverse completely undocumented claims about Natha yogacenter and its coordinating teacher Mihai Stoian in order to destroy the reputation of the school. It is as a reaction to this and other reasons that this homepage www.bhogaashram.dk has been created.
• Bhoga has since its founding in 2000 had a sign out by each of the two roads leading to the place from the main roads surrounding Bhoga. These signs where removed in the dark of night and after that where found in Kims garage. The inhabitants put the signs back up and after this they where cut down and disappeared completely.
• In the course of 2006 Kim Schmock contacted the commune to complain about the use of different facilities in Bhoga. He wished, though without success to stop the activities of the yearly summer camp in Bhoga. Kim Schmock is also trying to make the use of certain rooms in Bhoga illegal even if he has through the years benefited from the rent money from these and himself agreed to the building of these rooms. He is now hindering the necessary improvement of these rooms and hopes in this way to force people out of their home.
• During Nathas yearly summercamp in 2007 the water to the farm was suddenly cut off. After some investigation the inhabitants found out that an underground water tap around 1 km away from the Bhoga had been manually closed ...
• In the course of 2007 Kim Schmocks brother in law started to appear without notice in Bhoga under the pretext of wanting to buy the place. He had an unpleasant demeanour and was rude and threatening to the inhabitants. He has twice dropped of ca 4 tons of wood chippings on the premises which can only be seen as a provocation.
• Under the pretext of visiting the farm due to a so-called sale to an interested buyer, Kim Schmock came to Bhoga the 26th October 2007 with a property dealer, his brother in law (the interested buyer), his attourney Henrik Hornsleth and Hornsleths assistant and inspected the whole premises along with the private rooms. Our repeated wish to find another date so our lawyer Bjarke Madsen could join the proceedings was ignored. Since then it has been shown that Schmock and Hornsleth against common renting laws have misused their entrance to Bhoga and collected information which is now being used in their appeal in an ongoing bailiff court proceeding. Seen in the light that Hornsleth has been promised a part of Bhoga in the form of a mortgage paper in Bhoga showing that Hornsleth has an interest in Kim Schmock winning the case quickly, the inhabitants feel that their right security have been breached by an attorney who uses sleazy methods to get information in an ongoing court case.
• In March 2009 While the inhabitants were at work, Kim Schmock and his henchmen moved into Bhoga emptying all the contents of the house into the big yoga hall. When the inhabitants came home late at night they were shocked to find all their personal belongings scattered and thrown into the big yoga hall and were told to leave by Schmock and his cronies. They had also toppled the shiva statue in the garden and caused over 17000 kr,- in damage to personal belongings.
In a bold move the following day the inhabitants retook the house. The police came in 4 cars and Schmock and his cronies had to leave Bhoga emptyhanded. Kim Schmock is currently charged with burglary, stealing, harassment and vandalism.
• In June 2009 Schmock attacked Bhoga with 7 burly halfdrunk men. One of the inhabitants was punched twice in the face and his friend who was trying to film the men was severely beaten. Clearly yet another attempt to scare away the inhabitants.

HOW AN IDEAL TURNED INTO A COURTCASE
By Sahajananda Porslund
This article serves to give the reader the background story about Bhoga. It also serves partly as an answer to the accusations against Natha yogacenter published on the site www.bhoga.dk.
Content of article
The opinions on the website www.bhoga.dk about the ownership and future plans for Bhoga, as well as the serious accusations about Mihai Stoian and other teachers from Natha Yogacenter, are not shared by the involved parts and sideline witnesses to the Bhoga story. Going through the documents and official protocols of Bhoga Ashram and of the Bhoga court case, and by interviewing people from the Bhoga community and from Natha Yogacenter, Natha.net offers here a coherent overview of the past years events and surprising development in the spiritual community, Bhoga Ashram.
It started as a minor conflict between one of the members of the community, Kim Schmock, and the community living there. The conflict scaled up and the case went to court where Kim Schmock who left the community claimed his right to throw out the other inhabitants there and sell the farm to a third part. Kim Schmock wants it to appear as if he is the rightful owner and initiator of Bhoga, who was unfairly treated by the community and who is now claiming his fair right. A crusade against "injustice" caused towards him. But the community itself and people connected to the place thinks otherwise and give us a quite different story about harassment and manipulation damaging the future of a genuine spiritual initiative.
2. A sacred space
By comparing photos taken 6 years ago before the spiritual community Bhoga Ashram bought the place and how the place looks now, it is clear that many people have worked hard to make the place what it is today. Bhoga is an ashram. An ashram can be compared to an intentional community formed primarily for spiritual upliftment of its members, ie a sacred space for those seeking to discover their inner spiritual nature in an environment which facilitates this search.
Bhoga Ashram today hosts a dynamic spiritual community of several yoga teachers from Natha Yogacenter, two professional musicians educated in Rythmic music conservatory in Copenhagen, a Swedish moviemaker graduated from the Danish Film Academy, the editorial staff of the newsmagazine Logos, the daily manager of a teahouse in Copenhagen and several other visitors working on different other creative projects in the contemplative surroundings of Bhoga Ashram. I arrive in the middle of the annual summer camps held in Bhoga Ashram by Natha yogacenter. The impression from the article “Nathas True Face” published on www.bhoga.dk of a place squattered by a mad isolated sect barricading the entire place is already dissolved in the warm summer sun, as I am welcomed by several of the members of the community with warm greetings and a wonderful vegetarian meal. Around the buildings I find yoga teachers teaching yoga to the camp participants in the garden, one is mowing the lawn around the tents on the field together with two playing kids. From the main house I hear loud laughter – ‘can savage squatters really laugh that hard’, I am catching myself thinking – and through the door to the big kitchen I find a group of younger people cutting vegetables listening to the lecture from the conference-hall next door through the speakers.
My first impression of Bhoga ashram was not at all in alignment with the information published on www.bhoga.dk. How come? I decided on further investigation within the community itself, since bhoga.dk definitely did not give a complete picture of the situation. Actually the version of the Bhoga Case ‘Nathas true face’ written and published by Kim Schmock on bhoga.dk who left the community, suddenly appeared extremely subjective and did not seem to appreciate the truth at all. In fact it was just 3 short lines claiming Bhoga to be squattered by Natha Yogacenter and a lot of serious accusations and calumnies against ‘the squatters’.
According to the members of the community Bhoga Ashram they are in these days facing a case in court against one mans clever attempt to destroy the community and its activities and gain the profit on the sale of a property which never belonged to him and never was financed by him. Bhoga was bought at a price of 2.1 million kroner. As current house prices are today, Bhoga could easily be sold for 6 million kroners. This gives Kim Schmock a profit of around 4 million kroner not to mention the amount already payed down by people living in Bhoga through the times believing that their rent money was paying down the loans of a place believed to be Natha Yogacenters. As Bhogas credit institute loans are set up at the moment there is an annual downpayment of the original loan of 2.1 million of around 100.000 a year. This means that in rent these people have payed down 600.000 kroner of the original price (subtracting Kims own rentpayment). KIM STANDS TO GAIN A POSSIBLE PROFIT OF 4.6 MILLION KRONERS based on the work of a whole community in the course of many years! As we unfolded the different chapters of the Bhoga Case, it turned out to be the story about a community where heartful trust and team spirit is the fundamental level of communication and cooperation, and how one member of the community suddenly turned his back and went from loyal and trusted over suspicious and greedy to manipulative and irresponsible.
4. Buying the ashram The intention declaration
In the summer of 2000 a dozen spiritual seekers were looking for the same thing: A spiritual community inspired by the teachings in yoga, tantra and meditation from Natha Yogacenter. Among these people were Kim Schmock and Amrita Hansen. They had met in a small yoga camp in a summerhouse on Møn, where among others Kim Schmock together with his girlfriend Helle Grønhøj and Amrita Hansen were participating. What they did not know at that time was that they only few months later were going to buy a old farm on the countryside of Vejby together in order to fulfill their apparently common dream.
Amrita Hansen and Kim Schmock took the first initiative visiting Aadyssegaard (The name of the farm before it became "Bhoga") in Vejby later the same summer. According to Amrita Hansen they were all very enthusiastic, especially Kim and Helle: “Kim presented to us, that he wanted to buy the farm for the sake of creating a place, where there would be the same spirit and the same atmosphere all year round, as the one they had experienced on Møn. Especially Helle was very enthusiastic and said: ‘One should be together like this all the time and not just in one camp once a year’. Both Kim and Helle were very open, warm and helpful people.”
In October 2000 Kim Schmock put forth the initial downpayment necessary to buy Bhoga, signed the ownership contract and started renovating the wrecked old farm together with his new friends and colleagues of the community who decided to move there immediately, determined to realize their common dream. It was clear for everybody within the community that the place was going to belong to the community, even though the first primary payment and the loan for buying the place were established by Kim Schmock. The whole project and the renovation of the place was based on the common spiritual idea of creating a community based on the teachings of Natha Yogacenter, and furthermore to offer the place once it had been built up as a cultural house organised by Natha Yogacenter full of creative and spiritual activities for the local society.
The clear agreement within the community and confirmed in the protocols of many house meetings was therefore that Bhoga was belonging to the community and that Kim Schmock was only the generous cashier for managing the financial fuel for starting up the project. Already in November 2000 all the present members of the Bhoga community signed an Intention Declaration including Kim Schmock. The original and signed declaration was archived in Kim Schmocks personal papers and was not available for our investigation, but an electronic copy of the intention declaration remained in Natha Yogacenters archive dated and last modified on 15th of November 2000. It goes as follows:
Declaration of intent of 15. november 2000
This declaration is binding
The signers of this declaration form the Ådyssegård Asramcommunity, which, until further notice, takes responsability for building the asram. At decisions related to the building, NATHAs or MISAs leader has right to veto.
The signers bind themselves to the following:
1. To transform Ådyssegården Møngevej 11, Vejby, into a spiritual development- and course-center, with ecologically sustainable facilities.
2. To leave the leading and the economical responsability concerning Ådysse-gården to NATHA or its mother-organisation MISA, after the Ådyssegård is free of debt.
3. That Ådyssegården pays back it present owner, Kim Schmock, his expense for the downpayment at the purchase of the property (kr. 130.000,-), which has to be payed back before the leaving over to NATHA/ MISA. That all economical duties and obligations are removed from Kim Schmock and Helle Grønhøj
4. To facilitate these transactions through the formal forming of a self-owning trust (”fond”) under the official leadership of NATHA or MISA, as soon as possible.
The signers understand, acknowledge and bind themselves to the following:
5. To adopt the spiritual lifestyle according to NATHAs system, and to practice yoga in the measure given in the house rules.
6. To contribute to the building of the development- and course-center with labour or amounts that equals the value of the labour, in the measure given in the house rules.
7. That an individuals moving in or out can be decided by NATHAs or finally by MISAs leader.
8. At moving in, to contribute to the center by giving it first priority in the daily life.
9. At moving in, to pay the settled rent for the next 6 months. After this there is a 3 months time limit.
On the house meeting 3rd of April 2001 Kim Schmock officially announces that: “Kim and Helle already now want to begin the make over of the farm, so Kim no longer is registered as owner and guarantor, but is free from this. Kim, Christine Maria and other interested and relevant persons will form a committee, where we investigate the possibilities.”
5. The making of the ashram
Indeed a generous attitude, which in fact just reflects the same generosity from all the people working to establish the retreat centre. Many people who either studied or sympathized with the teachings of Natha Yogacenter gathered in the weekends to help their friends to make this wonderful initiative come through. “I was part of a men’s group in Natha Yogacenter and every Saturday morning we went to Bhoga to help the initiating renovation project. It was an amazing atmosphere of doing something together and it seemed just like what the school needed in order to create a physical location where we together could develop projects connected to the school. For example yoga camps, silent retreats, music festivals et cetera. Of course I never doubted that the place belonged to Natha Yogacenter, since it was publicly expressed among all the ones in charge in that time, including Kim”, says Martin Svensson. People even came all the way from Israel in order to participate in the yearly summer camps and in the necessary preparations: “I came together with two of my friends from Israel for the camp. We worked here for more than one month 8-10 hours pr day even with hard physical work. I was sure this placed belonged to Natha Yogacenter already, and even though I am a little naive, in this case I heard Kim express it clearly like that. Now I really don’t know what to say, but I am surprised how anyone can be so blinded by money or whatever might be his motivation for trying to destroy our wonderful community,” says Veredit Zeithun who used to live in Bhoga Ashram.
It did not take long before the community on the farm together decided to host the first big yoga camp held by Natha Yogacenter. In the beginning of 2001 before the first camp it was clear that the community met their first big challenge. Organizing a summer camp for 200 people on Ådyssegaard was definitely not an easy task considering the present conditions. And at the same time the community decided on a house meeting with the support of all members, to become an official ashram in alignment with the spiritual teachings of Natha Yogacenter, and furthermore to change the official name of the place to Bhoga Ashram. Amrita Hansen who was the first ashram leader in Bhoga and who organized the first summer camp writes in her deposition about the Bhoga Case: “When we had working weekends I helped where it was needed. Often I cooked food for all the people who came. Sometimes more than 20 people came. Mikael Eriksson instructed in how to build […] Kim borrowed us all his tools and he also had his own work team fixing all the things, which he would not let anybody borrow his special tools to fix.
None of us, none of all those people coming and working voluntary in their weekends and long afternoons, ever doubted that the farm belonged to ‘us’, meaning the group of people, who were practicing yoga according to the teachings of the same spiritual school, Natha Yogacenter. None of us doubted that Natha Yogacenter was going to own the place, when the time was ripe for this – and that was why all these people came and helped with voluntary work. I would never have called all these people, or worked that hard for the place, if I have had the slightest suspicion that Kim one day would declare it all to be his private property. I would have been embarrassed to ask my friends to work for free, so that a private person could take economical advantage of it.”
The people living in Bhoga Ashram were all in their first years of their yoga/studies and therefore Amrita Hansen moved in, in order to help the community in the right direction and more urgently to help organizing the soon to come summer camp: “I moved into Bhoga Ashram, Møngevej 11, 3210 Vejby on the 1st of April 2000 after agreement with the people living there, among them Kim Schmock. I moved in as ‘ashram leader’ first having secured myself, that everybody wanted the place to become a real ashram.” Just before that on the 26th of March 2001 Kim Schmock had signed a contract, declaring that in case he resigns from the Bhoga project, he will pass over the farm to the community living there: “The undersigned hereby guarantees, that if I do not wish to live an ashram life and hand over the leadership of the ashram, to the leader chosen by Grieg (right now Christine Maria Hansen), then I will hand over the farm to the people in the Ashram (Natha) and move out in the best possible harmonious way.” Signed by Kim Schmock 26/03/01.

6. The ownership: Kims proposed donation
Beside the verbal confirmations I was amazed as a reporter to see a written contract in such a dispute, and I had to ask myself: What makes a single member of a community suddenly claim the rights for a place which he 5 years before obviously resigned all ownership from in a written piece of paper handed over to the official protocol of the community?
As if this should not be evidence enough to confirm the original intention of Kim Schmock, as a loyal, trustworthy and responsible member of the community, whose only official and well-known idea about the place was, that it belonged to the community and was dedicated to integrate the teachings of Natha yogacenter in a living spiritual community. Only 2 months later immediately after a successful summer camp Kim according to several witnesses publicly announced his gratitude for the teachings of the school and his intentions even ‘to donate’ his downpayment for buying the farm to Natha. The entire community managed to transform an abandoned farm into a quiet well functioning and well-facilitated camp-site, Kim Schmock send a signed letter to Gregorian Bivolaru, the founder of Natha Yogacenter and the spiritual mentor of many of the students there, explaining certain aspects about the economy of Bhoga Ashram. Again in this letter he declares that his ownership of the place is pure formality and indeed the place belongs to the community: “I am not able to finance further development of Bhoga, but I got an idea. If I received the 160.000 kr back now, I will donate the whole amount to Bhoga Ashram as a start capital for making the facilities needed.” The official process for handing over the legal property papers of Bhoga to Natha unfortunately did never happen. Because in fact Kim was himself in charged of the economy of both Bhoga and Natha and for some reason never started this process.
7. What the others did not know…
But still we have not yet seen why Kim turned his back on the community 5 years later. What happened and is there any footprints leading us back to when it actually happened?
According to Amrita Hansen, ashram leader in Bhoga at that time there was already a split in the mind of Kim Schmock from the beginning: “Kim was in this way ‘depending’ on that people from Natha Yogacenter were interested in the project for two obvious reasons: The first was that he and Helle obviously could not create a spiritual community by themselves. They needed somebody to move in and to do it together with, somebody who had more experience than themselves. The other reason was that Kim could not afford to pay for all the expenses for maintaining the place. He was all the time very careful to secure himself: To make sure enough people would move in and to make them oblige for a long enough period, in order to make sure he would not suddenly risk his initiative and go bankrupt. As a matter of fact Kim all the time showed himself as a person with a good sense for his own economy.”
So Kim Schmock not only wanted a spiritual community, but also a “place with horses for him and his girlfriend Helle”, as Amrita Hansen writes in her witness deposition about Bhoga. But what was most important: The community or his own romantic dream? In fact maybe Kim just wanted “a place with horses” where he and his girlfriend could enjoy their according to Amrita Hansen quite expensive lifestyle. But is it morally correct to pretend in front of a community of around 10 people and not to mention in front of a whole school of hundreds of people, contributing for 6 years with free labour, that you are working for their project, when in fact you are only dreaming about horses? Nonetheless many facts are showing us that this is the reality.
8. The economical set up
Already from the beginning Kim declared in several house meetings – as it is found in the house meeting summaries - and confirmed by the ashram leader at that time Amrita Hansen, that the economical responsibility belonged to the community and the members of Natha Yogacenter and not to him personally. After one year delay from the first initiative the community decided in the spring 2002 to make an Aps (Anpartsselskab) which should function as a link in the passing over of the property from Kim to Natha Yogacenter. Again Kim took the task on behalf of the community, since he was the most experienced in financial matters, to make an aps with himself as the director, in order to make the agreed transaction with monthly shares handing over the property to the members of Natha Yogacenter.
A lease was therefore signed by Kim Schmock as the owner of Bhoga Aps and Mihai Stoian as the newly chosen coordinator of Natha Yogacenter. In “The true face of Natha” published on Kim Schmocks homepage, it is mentioned that Kim did not like Mihai Stoian very much. The facts are suggesting us that they in fact had a very close connection and friendship for many years: In the same period as Mihai Stoian took over the coordination of Natha Yogacenters teaching department Kim Schmock became an important character in the administration and economy of Natha Yogacenter taking many important tasks and new initiatives having consulted the board, where Mihai Stoian also was present as manager of the yoga teachers.
According to Amrita Hansen and Celestine Andersen, Kim was member of the board of Natha Yogacenter, who was administrating all the agreed decisions on the general assemblies of Natha Yogacenter. “Kim was for a period of 8 months accountant for both Natha Yogacenter and Bhoga Ashram. After a while we trusted his reliability so much, that only later we discovered that he had made several huge transactions of many thousand kroner from the account of Natha Yogacenter to cover the expenses of Bhoga Ashram, who seemed to had run out of hand“, says Amrita Hansen who kept the protocols of the board meetings.
9. Taking personal advantage
So a lease between Bhoga Aps and Natha was made as a preliminary step in order to make the official transfer of the property. Instead Kim abused it to claim the property for his own and throw out Natha. A trusted man indeed, Kim Schmock, so trustworthy that the board of Natha Yogacenter kept their hands on the heart for almost 8 months while Kim constantly was talking about a new amazing payment system he was claiming to set up for Natha Yogacenter, while in fact instead of transferring the promised shares of Bhoga Aps to Natha Yogacenter, he was paying all the bills for maintaining and improving the facilities of the farm by drying out Natha Yogacenter’s account.
“The bills from Bhoga added a deficit to Natha Yogacenter of approximately 100.000 kr in the first 6 months of 2004. It was difficult for Natha Yogacenter to pay the house rent and since Kim did not make any budgets for Bhoga, but only passed on bills, a majority of the committee decided to renounce the engagement, and also the lease.” Says Amrita Hansen
The cancellation of the lease was done verbally at the small assembly there, since as Amrita Hansen underlines: “Verbal agreements are like written agreements. The atmosphere between us was very friendly and nobody would believe, that anybody would try to take advantage of a silly contract which was only a formality. Now we know that we were a little naïve and that one wrong signature risks destroying 6 years of efforts and great achievements, because of an irresponsible and corrupted economical set up of one man.”
Now Kim abused the contract to claim that Natha was only tenants in Bhoga and even bad tenants not paying their rent! In fact he was hiding that Natha was paying all the costs including the monthly mortgage and also veiled the official agreement about transferring the formal papers for the property to Natha. Mihai Stoian explains that the real reason for the verbal cancellation of the lease was to make Bhoga Ashram become an economical independent branch of Natha Yogacenter: “We made it clear that together with the cancellation of the contract, the members of community living there now had to administrate the place themselves financially and practically. This procedure was agreed in order to make the people there more responsible for the place and not just depend on constant economical support from the main center in Copenhagen and donations of private persons.”
10. Indications of fraud
But this did not solve all the problems for the committee of Natha Yogacenter. In fact Kim Schmock had just postponed the attainment of a proper overview of the economy and at the same time the board member who partly took over Kims tasks, discovered something even more alarming: “After looking through the papers I discovered that the promised transfer of Bhoga Aps to the members of Natha Yogacenter, which Kim was responsible for he had not even begun!”
Mihai Stoian underlines the fact that Bhoga Ashram was “even supported by Natha Yogacenter by letting all the income for the yoga courses and the economical successful yoga camps kept there, contribute to the further development of the facilities there.”
11. Opposing the community
After a while another sign occurred showing Kim Schmocks inner dilemma between supporting and being loyal to the initial foundation of Bhoga Ashram, as a spiritual community, and fulfilling his personal dreams and desires. He started to show an opposing attitude to the spiritual program of the ashram, consisting in daily common meditations. Instead talking or loud movie watching could be heard from his room. ”Kim would do a lot of things for Helle and sometimes I felt, that it was mostly for the sake of Helle, he had bought the farm and to create the community she had always dreamt about. He started to be not so happy to oblige himself for practicing yoga and meditation or participating in the common activities, which was the main purpose of the community. I have had long discussions with him about the lack of realism in his idea about taking partial responsibility for such a big project, when he did not really want to be part of it himself”, says Amrita Hansen.
According to Stine Andersen: “ Kim also started to oppose against the future plans of Bhoga Ashram as a place for a spiritual community, wanting to lead things in his own direction, which was clearly not the initial agreement nor the present opinion by the majority of the people in the community, which was tired of spiritual compromises from Kim.” [Note: According to Stine Andersen, Mihai Stoian had announced the community some suggestions for turning the place into a more harmonious ashram.]
Lets sum up the situation from here: Did Kim really plan all this on forehand, and only pretended that he would hand over the farm later, so that a large community of people was working for him? Taking the responsibility of the economy of Natha Yogacenter and financing his ’own place’ with the funds of a spiritual school, leading all the involved parts behind the light and blocking the agreed transfer of the shares of Bhoga Aps to the community? What would make a man do something like that: Was he just extremely clever and foresighted calculating all to his own economical interest as a cold hearted businessman or did it happen gradually a long the way? At least one thing is clear: While the rest of the community was arranging summer camps and renovating the facilities, Kim was keeping meetings with clever lawyers and his auditor securing his personal interest in the property.
After several disagreements where Kim was in conflict with the board decisions the final break came in July 2005. After the board had cancelled one of his personal projects in Bhoga, Kim himself realized that it could not continue like this. On the 26th of July 2005 Kim writes a letter to the people in the community announcing his resignation: “Dear Bhogaists, after considering the consequences for me accepting Mihai´s suggestion “how to turn Bhoga into an Ashram”, I have decided it is time for me to leave Bhoga.” In the same letter he also mentions a reason: That he does not feel competent enough to go through with the project: “[…] I have to move from this position, not to be an obstacle for further development of Bhoga – I would only be able to keep it ‘as a nice place to be’.“ Kim even specifies the economical conditions for the make over in the letter: “The basic fact is that someone else must take the financial responsibility for Bhoga. The price of Bhoga will be what I have invested in Bhoga. This I think is very fair, considering the price of Bhoga has increased since I bought it. I have asked my accountant to a make a statement. […] May God and all his angels be with you for now and eternity.”
13. Buying your own farm, if only you knew the price!
For sure the community needed this blessing to resist what Kim was going to pull them all through the next year. From the 26th of July 2005 starts a long series of changing offers for the passing over of Bhoga Aps owned by Kim Schmock to Natha Yogacenter alias the community in Bhoga Ashram. Kim simply seemed to be taken by one clever idea after the other completely forgetting his initial verbally and signed promises to a whole community, thus leading himself astray both juridical and morally. From the initial agreed 160.000 kr in 2001 which was his actual down payment and contribution to the place, Kim Schmock consulted by his for many years accountant Leif Munck on the 26th of July comes up with 426.000 kr being “how much money I had invested in Bhoga.”, writes Kim in an email to Mihai Stoian, adding maybe with slightly bad conscience that, “I don’t think this is correct, it must be much less”, and “you pay me back my investment, and you can sell it afterwards if you want to take the profit, or you continue the development of Bhoga.” If the situation for the community so far had been tolerable and acceptable, from now on it turned absurd: “The same day as the deadline for the down payment of 426.000 kr to Kim, he cancelled the offer exactly as we were on the way to the bank to transfer the money.” Says Stine Andersen, ashram leader in Bhoga, and adds with a smile “At least he started to be honest about his real intentions.” During the next 3 months Kim Schmock advised by his accountant Leif Munck and his lawyer Henrik Hornslet is constantly changing the consistency of the offer for the make over. The 10th of January 2006 the community Bhoga Ashram on Møngevej 11 receives a final sales offer which “is not subject for further negotiation” on 3000.000 kroner. The community of course did not agree to buy their own farm, once again, and this time for a price which was even higher because of the increased market prices and the many improvements of the facilities on the farm, which they had made themselves and which Natha Yogacenter had paid for.
Actually Kim was asking them to pay a second time for their hard efforts to build up the place, since the only reduction made in the sale-offer was for some of the materials used for the renovation-project (around 600.000 kr).
Instead of moving out within 3 months as he promised in the signed letter, Kim at the same time started a serious harassment of the community there. “He tried to throw us out several times. Putting notes on the doors and ridiculous house rules like ‘no access to the public areas after 22.00’. He put locks on our rooms and made threats of physical violence and about going to the newspapers with the story, which was even more absurd, since we were the ones being harassed! He even stole the common moneybox with 30.000 kr from the summer camps in it,” says Stine Andersen ashram leader and spokesman of Bhoga Ashram.
Also the members of the board in Natha Yogacenter was shocked by the situation: “Theoretically we have worked for Natha Yogacenter and the promotion of a genuine spiritual school. In reality it looks like all our effort will end up in the pocket of a single person with a very immoral and even criminal attitude. Considering official sale numbers plus the enormous tax advantages, which he put at his own disposition for his other company KSED, it is clear that for him this project ended up being pure business. I still hope and believe that he got tempted a long the way; but its very hard to see a person you trusted with all you stand for going so corrupted and stabbing all his old friends and colleagues in the back,” says a concerned member of the board.
The case continues and Kim apparently does not stop the harassment of the community: “Three times he called the fire department and another official faculty of Helsinge Kommune in order to stop the annual summer camps, which are going on at the moment. Thank God that the chief of the fire department recognized what this guy what up to. Last night he came again and cut our big street sign for the second time. He is without any common sense and obviously considers us as his enemy number one. What can we do, now we are guarding the new sign every night hoping that he will not go into more damaging harassments,” says Andronicus Torp, one organizer of the summer camps in Bhoga. This is the background of the Bhoga case. To read more about the different court proceedings that are currently taking place we refer to the section called "courtcases" (See link in menu).
It is a matter of principle for us not to let a cynical businessman get away with such a damaging attack on a spiritual school and its visions. We are responsible for many hundreds of students all over the country and we have a lot to live up to”, says Amrita Hansen who is administrating the case for the community and the members of Natha Yogacenter.16. Serious accusations, but no proofs
Amrita Hansen is here also referring to the very serious accusations especially against the coordinating teacher in Natha Yogacenter Mihai Stoian, who was Kim Schmocks yoga teacher for more than 4 years. Some accusations which might have very serious juridical consequences for Kim, if Natha Yogacenter starts an injury-case against him. About the accusations, Mihai Stoians first comment was: “I am amazed. It seems he did not want to learn what I was teaching him. Constantly he refused to learn from the tasks and responsibility he was offered. Of course the accusations against me and the school are absolutely without any ground in reality. Being the spiritual leader of a big school it’s natural that all the frustrations of people are projected on me. Furthermore it is improper discussing my personal life, after he has been lying for years in front of hundreds of people.”
We found it very difficult to comprehend how an article naming the truth in its title can present a story and a long list of accusation without any documentation. Not a single quotation from any involved in the case or other kinds of documentation is published and only three lines about the Bhoga Case itself. Lets take one of the more serious examples from “The true face of Natha”: After the accusations in the Romanian medias about the famous yoga teacher Gregorian Bivolaru was proven inconsistent and false and nothing but a huge media-scam by the Supreme court of Sweden in Stockholm – an important decision shaking radically the entire juridical system in Romania – Kim Schmock brings the same accusations in his article. He did this even after the Supreme court in Sweden gave asylum to Gregorian Bivolaru. Does Kim Schmock not recognize the judgment of the Supreme court? “The article on www.bhoga.dk looks more and more like a last desperate attempt to turn the case into his own favor. I am very sorry for him and that he turned so destructive. Luckily he is now trying not only to destroy his old friends, but also his own chances for having the least reliability in court,” ends Amrita, spokeswoman of Natha Yogacenter.
We sincerely hope that Kim Schmock will end this pattern of destruction and open himself to engaging in a dialogue with his old friends, so a case which has lasted for so long will find a fair conclusion.
People have always attempted to grasp the deep meaning of dreams. The ancients would take them for gods’ messages. Nowadays the scientific researches renew the comprehension attempt of the dream world, stating that dreams can provide interesting information about our personality.
“This morning I woke up and I saw a beautiful sky. I jumped out of the bed and after a copious breakfast I headed school. At the bus stop, as talking to some mates I hear a ring… I wake up. I wash up, I put clothes on and have breakfast. I run out to catch the bus to school. Uhh, I reach school… During the roll call, some classmate hit a book against my head and… I get up. I get up a little dizzy and tired, I wash up, have breakfast and hurry to catch the bus to school. No special incidents during this morning. But doubts start pushing me, so I ask for a mate to pinch me to see if I’m awake for real…
Then mother shakes me and says it’s time to go to school. It seems like this will never stop! I’m late, hurry to get to school. Later on I tell to my mates my reiterative nightmare. Suddenly the alarm sets off. Everybody bursts out of the school and there I fall down and strain my knee! I wake up all of a sudden and look at the watch. It’s 2 am and dark outside. Is it still a dream? I’m falling to wake up again and again, I feel as if I were trapped in an endless stream of dreams. Who is going to set me free out of this terrible spiral?”
Are you really reading this or you just dream about doing it? The question may raise strange or absurd. Still who can say where reality starts and dreams ends up?
The paradox of dreams
This nightmare story is an item –quite seldom by chance – of false arousal in series. The clearness of details and the images accuracy almost convince us that we got up for real. This perfect illusion is one of the countless amazing details of the dream experience. But what is a dream, in fact? And particularly what is that makes it different from reality?
Dreams specially issue during a particular stage of sleep, named “the paradoxical sleep”. This stage recurs at every 90 minutes (almost) since falling asleep. This paradoxical sleep is not specific to the human beings only, but it occurs even at animals. As for the humans, dreams display huge semantic potential. There may occur messages from our ego underground, named “unconscious” in psychologists’ terms.
Talking to the gods
People in ancient times would assess magical and divinatory features to dreams and they even knew some methods of dream “incubation”. After some ablution rites, the “dreamer” was supposed to fall asleep in a temple, in a place prone to secure the communion to gods. His dreams were later on construed by experts. The Greeks and the Romans did exactly apprehend the semantic dimension of dreams. They knew how to reveal their meaning, including the sexual symbolism.
In the Middle Age, the mentality changed, meaning the dream interpretation was labeled as enchantment. In the 20th century many writers started to take interest in dreams and set new interpretative theories. Among them Sigmund Freud may be considered the pioneer in psychology. He explained the strangeness of the dreams’ world by means of the “unconscious” concept. Therefore the impression comes from the fact that the dream is the point where the unconscious unfolds, under the guise of the uneven signs, and unuttered phantasms. This is the function of the dreams, a basic one for the psychic balance of the individual. Each of us balances his or her suppressed wishes to make life convenient.
The controlled dreams
In order to better appraise this phenomenon, there have been proper laboratory methods. These days it is possible to scientifically observe the different stages of the sleep.
The subject is connected to some electrodes stick on the skin area covered with hair, on the face and on the rest of the body. The measurements consider the brain waves, the oculus movements and the muscles. The heart beat and the breathing are also recorded. The results are simultaneously described on a graphic or on a screen. Each page of recording is copied in a graphic that shows the sequence and duration of each stage of sleep.
These experiences enabled the removal of some preconceived ideas about the sleep. The paradoxical sleep was considered as vital for the psychic health so far. The subjects deprived of the paradoxical sleep actually complained mental disorder. Some medicines, particularly the sedatives, completely remove the paradoxical sleep, and do not trigger any long-term nefarious effects. Besides since the computers age, some researchers tried to stress some analogy between dreams and the way that brain processes the information. In their opinion the dreams were supposed to select data. But since the paradoxical sleep is not absolutely necessary, this fact stands against the “utilitarian” theories, which were bound to assign a utilitarian function to dreams.
The telepathic dreams
Ever since the ancient times, they say there were some dreams providing telepathic and foreseeing information. Although psychology wouldn’t agree such ideas, the scientists currently seem more open to it. Some bold scientists had some laboratory experiences about the telepathic dream and precognition. The experiments made by the American Montague Ullman in the 60s secured elements to support the idea that dreams can bring information about pat and the future that cannot be covered by any sensorial known way.
These days most of the researches are based on the study of the lucid dreams. It’s about the quite seldom cases when the dreamer is aware about the fact he is dreaming. The question is whether the subject can literally interfere in his dream to change the track of events he experiences.
The dreams measurer
By the end of the 70s the British psychologist Keith Hearne updated a method that allows the sleeping to convey some signals through some eye movements’ code. He stated: “I discovered that lucid dreams are real dreams that incur during the paradoxical. We proved that dreams unfold in real time and not in a moment”.
The lucid dreamer owns a great creative potential. It is well known that dreams have inspired lots of works of art and scientific discoveries. The greatest part of the composers has put down music they had heard in their dreams and many writers have figured out their books during their dreams as well. Some of the most famous cases in this respect:
The writer Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) had the idea of his novel Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1885) in his dream. The German chemist Friedrich Kekulé von Stradonitz (1829-1896) suddenly grasped the round structure of the benzene molecule in a dream where he saw the atoms dancing and set in the archetypal form of the Uroboros snake which bites its own tail (as a symbol of the time cycles). Another chemist, the Russian Dmitri Mendeleev (1834-1907) again in a dream he had in 1869 saw for the first time the periodical table of the elements. The German chemist Otto Loewi (1873-1961, awarded with the Noble Prize for medicine, had discovered the chemical nature of the nervous influx subsequent to an experience he underwent in his dream. And many more…..
The ancient already knew the “foreseeing” dreams – that comprised the disease omens. These dreams are probably based on the unconscious detection of some physical symptoms of the disease. In the future diseases could be cured in the state of lucid dream, if we knew how to use the unconscious interference between mind and body.
15 years now on the control of the visual content of the dream will certainly be possible in real time. The information will be put down in a virtual form so that the subject should recover as awaken the characters and situations in his own dream. There is just one more step to take to sending the dreams by Internet.
Keith Hearne’s dreams device
Psychologist Keith Hearne started to study the lucid dreams in 1978, during his doctorate studies at the Liverpool University. He was the first to set a system of communication proper to the state of dream – based on the eyes movements – and he determined the physiological and psychological features of the dreams.
Starting from the transmission of a known stimulus which is always the same, he tested several techniques, till he noticed that the electric impulses conveyed to the wrist were often comprised in the current dream.
Hearne tested different techniques to detect the paradoxical sleep. The final conclusion was that the most reliable clue is the breathing changes. This lead Hearne to invent the dreams’ device, which is bound to induce lucid dreams. Besides this helps the users accede their own dreams, and it awakens them during the paradoxical sleep. Besides, the device can break a nightmare since the first stage as it can detect the stress it goes with and therefore the anxiety during the sleep.
The sleep stages
The sleep is made up of two different states: the slow waves sleep and the paradoxical sleep that goes with the dreams. Every man dreams for about two hours per night. The two stages go in turns during a 90 minutes cycle. This alternation is due to the ebb and flow of some brain chemical substances.
The slow waves sleep was arbitrarily divided into 4 stages, each of them particular to the increasing slow waves. The snoring, the walk sleeping the talk sleeping belong to this kind of sleep. During the paradoxical sleep the breathing less deep but quicker and more varying than the slow waves sleep. This kind of sleep can be detected by the eye movements under the eyelids.
During the paradoxical sleep all muscles are actually deeply paralysed in the human body – excepting the eyes – even if the breathing properly continues. The paradoxical sleep is depicted by sleep paralysis, nightmares and false awakenings during the sleep.
During the night, the paradoxical sleep stages are increasing, whereas the duration slow waves sleep decrease in direct proportion. This points out that during the first half of the night it’s the slow waves sleep that prevails and the paradoxical sleep during the second half.
Presentation of the Ten Great Cosmic Powers:
The Tantric Festival 2006 kept by Natha Yogacenter was dedicated to celebrate the Eternal Feminine - the Supreme Energy of God: MAHA SHAKTI (The Great Shakti). As a gift for our web-guests, who could not participate to this extraordinary tantric camp we here publish the entire presentation of the Ten Great Cosmic Powers from the camp program.Extracts from the camp program 'International Yoga symposium Vejby, Denmark 2006':
The Ten Great Cosmic Powers
short presentation by Mihai Stoian, Natha Yogacenter
Shakti means feminine power, force of nature, energy. She is the expression of the Eternal Feminine, or the Mother Deity, unifying femininity and maternity through her manifestation as the force of Nature.
In the Tantric tradition, the term Shakti defines an extraordinarily complex aspect of the universe, which bears numerous nuances. Some of these are: cosmic creative force, mother who gave birth to everything, cosmic energy, seductive woman, devoted sister, terrible power who destroys all limitations, Goddess who grants divine gifts, feminine force residing especially in beautiful, vital and spiritual women, fundamental energy Kundalini Shakti, matrix of the whole Creation.
The divine energy, Shakti, does not allow Herself to be confined in any form, formula or ritual. Solid as the earth, fluid as the water, bright as the fire, free as the air, infinite as the space, She traverses all elements belonging to this world, without acquiring the identity of any. But nevertheless the tantric tradition underlines that in order to understand Shakti one has to know Her through identification and adoration.
In her supreme form, Shakti is identified with Mahadevi or Mahamaya, the Great Goddess, the power who creates and destroys everything, often represented as the mysterious uterus from which everything emerged and into which everything dissolves.
In the tantric cosmology, the whole universe is considered to have emerged and to be permanently sustained by two forces, opposed and complementary in terms of polarity, structuring the whole range of complex phenomena: Shiva (masculine, Yang, solar) and Shakti (feminine, Yin, lunar). As Tantra says: “There is no Shiva (any form of consciousness) without Shakti (the intrinsic energy contained in that consciousness) nor Shakti without Shiva.”
And to understand this more here is another aphorism: “Shiva and Shakti cannot be separated from each other exactly like the fire and its inherent power to burn”.
Maha Shakti (the Supreme Energy) exists in the Manifestation everywhere and in everything, in numberless forms and aspects but among them there are 10 most important and great essential energies from which everything that exists manifests. These are known in the secret tantric tradition as DASHA MAHA VIDYA - the Ten Great Cosmic Enlightening Visions or Feminine Powers.
Fundamental energies of this Created Universe, the Great Cosmic Powers represent the core of the Tantric tradition being in the same time an extraordinary path to reach spiritual perfection by awakening gradually all the potentialities that are hidden in our being.
The terrible force of time, the grace of endless compassion, dazzling beauty, all-comprising vision, endless courage, capacity for self-sacrifice, fascinating radiance, sublime vacuity, expressive play, intoxicating harmony... all these are different aspects of the Supreme Feminine Energy and each of them may lead you to gain control over your energies and to the experience of the Ultimate Reality.
Since Tantra is the science of gradually expanding the consciousness beyond any limits by uniting our consciousness with the Energies of Creation, it becomes clearer that the initiation in the mysteries of the main energies of Creation is the axis of this ancient spiritual path. Almost forgotten nowadays, this special initiation called DASHA MAHA VIDYA (The Great Knowledge about the Ten Cosmic Powers) is part of our school and it is revealed gradually during the years of study and practice.
In this camp, due to its special integration in a spiritual field, these revelations can be approached easily even by a beginner in spirituality.
Each day of the camp is consecrated to a Cosmic Power and, from the yoga practice in the morning until the end of the day, you are invited to stay attentive and perceive the mysterious influence of that energy. Manifested as special states and deeply significant experiences, all oriented toward the sphere of influence of that Great Cosmic Power, sudden intuitions, clarification of some aspects of your life or of your spiritual studies, amazing synchronicities, and much more might appear as a conclusion of the day. They will be more like a symphony of delicate gestures of communion with the fundamental energies of this Manifestation rather than a sterile intellectual understanding.
We wish you overwhelming Love and wonderful inspirations…
The Tantric Vision
In the Tantric vision, the Universe has a pyramidal vibratory structure. Different worlds are placed on different levels or strata. Each stratum has a definite rate of vibration and expresses a definite level of consciousness. At the top of this gigantic pyramidal structure there are certain Cardinal Foci of Energy (Vidya-s) symbolically called “Great Cosmic Powers” or “Goddesses”, which have a paramount role in creating, maintaining and resorbing the Cosmos.
The disciplines that lead to the inner communion with these Cosmic Powers are known as Maha Vidya Yoga or Shri Vidya Yoga. These are the supreme fundamental ways (paths) of profound knowledge and wisdom.
It can be said that the Ten Great Feminine Cosmic Powers (Dasha Maha Vidya-s) are the ten fundamental aspects of the Supreme Cosmic Mother’s personality. Nevertheless, each Goddess has a specific cosmic function in the universal harmony. Each of them represents a particular cosmic function and each leads to a special realization of the One and Unique Reality.
For the one aspiring to perfection the importance of the reality of SHAKTI springs out from the fact that SHAKTI is representing also the spiritual efficiency. The aspirant that awakens SHAKTI (in various forms) in his/her being is becoming highly efficient in all beneficial and spiritual actions. Without the realizing efficiency of SHAKTI it is almost impossible to succeed on the path to perfection. But to awaken SHAKTI is in the same time the direct way to awaken the consciousness – SHIVA, yet to adore SHAKTI seems much easier for many in our time.
The might of Kali, the sound force of Tara, the beauty and bliss of Sundari, the vast vision of Bhuvaneswari, the effulgent charm of Bhairavi, the striking force of Chinnamasta, the mysterious void of Dhumavati, the hypnotizing powers of Bhagalamukhi, the expressive play of Matangi and the concord and harmony of Kamalatmika are the various characteristics - the distinct manifestations of the Supreme Consciousness that has made this creation possible.
The Great Cosmic Power of Transformation - KALI
The Great Cosmic Power KALI represents, in eternity, the spiritual principle of continuous transformation, and Her cosmic actions are meant to serve the accomplishment of the Supreme Realization after the gradual unfolding of the divine possibilities in temporal succession. She is the supreme and mysterious power of Time that also helps the sincere and devoted spiritual seekers to transcend the becoming and to reach the everlasting perfection which is beyond Time.
The divine discrimination, the right action, which overcomes any obstacles and the inspired skillfulness in action are specific aspects of this Great Cosmic Power. She represents the colossal potential of the creative sexual energy, and also the amazing power of transformation that is plenary manifested through love and frantic sexuality. In the human being, she is the tremendous energy, Kundalini Shakti.
The Great Cosmic Power KALI is spontaneously loved by the brave one, by the one who ventures full of noble enthusiasm, by the courageous spiritual hero, VIRA. The VIRA’s path, VIRACHARA, is the most adequate for those who want to obtain KALI’s overwhelming grace.
The Great Cosmic Power of Compassion and Divine Grace - TARA
The Great Cosmic Power TARA is also called “The Savioress” and the “Guiding Star”. She represents the very manifestation of Divine Grace ‘saving’ her worshippers from the life in “samsara” (the ocean of illusion). Among other aspects, She emanates from the Supreme Absolute Divine Compassion. TARA is also the All-mighty power of the primordial Sound, the fundamental pranava AUM, the Word which foreruns the arising of the creation, the substance-sound, the quintessence of all the sounds, the affirmative Logos, the assertion of the creative Divinity, the source of speech, and the owner of the superior knowledge.
In the Tantric tradition TARA represents also the Cosmic Feminine Power that responds the fastest to the aspirations and the prayers of anybody who is sincerely asking for help. This aspect of the Supreme Consciousness, this Cosmic Power is the one that is the most efficient in difficult situations, when we feel lost and when we cannot find the right way by ourselves. Her function in Creation is to protect the sincere aspirant on the path and especially in difficult moments to guide him\her like a star that is guiding the sailor in darkness on the ocean.
The Great Cosmic Power of Beauty, Truth and Harmony - TRIPURA SUNDARI
The Great Cosmic Power TRIPURA SUNDARI represents the manifestation of Divine goodness, grace, love, beauty, truth and harmony. When happiness mirrors and manifests itself as plenary and harmoniously as possible in a certain form, its expression is Divine Beauty: the Great Cosmic Power TRIPURA SUNDARI.
Each created form (shape) expresses a profound spiritual necessity. Becoming gradually aware of this secret reality gets us closer and closer to Atman, the final essence of each form.
TRIPURA SUNDARI is the Supreme and Primordial Wish, the perfect and endless Divine Love that animates the entire creation, the overflowing of the absolute, fundamental Happiness, The Power of Absolute Splendor.
TRIPURA SUNDARI is the Supreme Manifestation of the Almighty power of LOVE. As an absolute law of the entire Creation, Love is a manifestation of GOD. The Great Cosmic Power TRIPURA SUNDARI is therefore the one that is practically identical with GOD as SHIVA, with whom She is forming the inseparable Divine Couple. For this reason any harmonious and loving couple relationship is inspired and sustained by this Great Cosmic Power. For those who want to bring Love and harmony into their relationship the invocation and adoration of TRIPURA SUDARI is an essential help.
The Great Cosmic Power of Space and Divine Knowledge - BHUVANESHWARI
The Great Cosmic Power BHUVANESHWARI represents, in an ineffable way, the direct experience of the concept of the endless and all-including space. She is the Divine Mother of all the worlds and of all the realms.
The Great Cosmic Power BHUVANESHWARI is the gigantic sphere of force that creates, penetrates, maintains and nourishes the worlds. She is the omnipresent force, the thread, and at the same time the mysterious warp of the entire texture of the Creation.
The Great Cosmic Power BHUVANESHWARI allows us to access the superior, supernatural, parallel worlds, enabling us to fully experience the truths of the Cosmic Illusion Maya. From a very spiritual perspective, the Cosmic Energy of Space is nothing but the illusion of the Formless Form. Its existence is a magical Reality (sometimes deceptive), an ephemeral reflection, the Power of the Infinite Consciousness to reflect finite forms. Among other characteristics, BHUVANESHWARI also manifests the Divine Knowledge. She is the one that is framing the context of our spiritual evolution and that is arranging the favorable situations for the beginning.
The Great Cosmic Power of Discipline and Sacrifice - TRIPURA BHAIRAVI
The Great Cosmic Power TRIPURA BHAIRAVI is the gigantic energetic Sphere of Self Discipline (Tapas) and Sacrifice. The resonance with this Great Cosmic Power amplifies within the human being enthusiasm and ardent aspiration towards God.
BHAIRAVI (the Terrible) is the fire of Tapas, which allows the annihilation of the negative karma and the accumulation of the necessary energy for spiritual ‘jumps’.
The fire of aspiration raised by BHAIRAVI is the one that ceaselessly determines the human being to surpass its own limitations, the all-pervading force of the consciousness that widens, and deepens all aspects of that being.
Like the fire of Tapas, like the flame of growing aspiration, TRIPURA BHAIRAVI, the grim terror that blows in the heart of the indolent ones, burns all the miseries and weaknesses, and finally purifies the serious aspirants, making them ready to receive Divine Grace. TRPURA BHAIRAVI is the Cosmic Power that represents the exclusive focus in the present action, focus that is generating the conditions for further transformation. This vectorial power into action is the one that makes it possible to restrict our actions in moments when the spiritual “jump” is ready to take place. TRIPURA BHAIRAVI is the one that is helping the individual to transcend the limitation that is given by the selfish actions by this exclusive focus into the action that is leading to a “forgetting about the ego” and thus transcending it in the middle of the action.
The Great Cosmic Power of Courage and Transcending of the Ego - CHINNAMASTA
CHINNAMASTA is the Great Cosmic Power of endless Courage for realizing the supreme self-sacrifice: the cutting off of the mind in order to discover what is beyond it! She manifests the true spiritual heroism, boldness, bravery, temerity.
CHINNAMASTA helps to immediately overcome certain tormenting and negative resonances, such as: fear, fright, negative temptations, demonic attacks, and thus it becomes possible to achieve a heroic attitude, an attitude of divine abnegation, and self sacrifice in order to be able to transcend all these negative aspects. The divine anger (oriented against all evil but especially against the ego) is the specific energy of CHINNAMASTA, which can act instantaneously producing sudden transformations. She is known as the most efficient protector against any demonic influence. She is as well known as the most fierce enemy of the ego - which is the human’s biggest demon.
CHINNAMASTA is also the Great Cosmic Power liberating the aspirant from the state of enchainment in the gross sensuality of the physical body.
Acting as an electric energy along Shushumna Nadi, CHINNAMASTA has an important role in opening Brahmarandhra, the door of Brahma, in the very top of the head.
The Great Cosmic Power of Sublime Vacuity - DHUMAVATI
The Great Cosmic Power DHUMAVATI is the endless energetic sphere of the Ineffable and Blissful Vacuity which allows for the immediate transcendence of any sufferance.
Her specific subtle energy makes possible, among other things, the denial and the transcendence of unconsciousness, evil, ignorance, pessimism, depression, frustration, boredom, inertia, confusion, recklessness and the alchemizing of these inferior tendencies into wonderful spiritual states.
Through the ample and profound communion with DHUMAVATI’s infinite sphere of force, all the inferior aspects of the states of passive inner emptiness generated by sufferance may be very easily annihilated and sublimated into the elevated energies of the Divine, Blissful Void.
The Great Cosmic Power DHUMAVATI gives the mysterious impulse for transforming the existential feeling of emptiness into euphoric Vacuity.
The Great Cosmic Power of Fascination and Stoppage - BAGALAMUKHI
The Great Cosmic Power BAGALAMUKHI manifests the energetic sphere of Divine paralyzing fascination producing the necessary discontinuity in the flux of ephemeral becoming. This discontinuity is always needed as a gate for transcending ignorance.
Through Her grace, we are instantaneously translated into the Divine, Blissful Creative Void and we achieve the state of Divine Ecstasy, Samadhi. With the help of this Great Cosmic Power we attain, in certain special circumstances, the suspension of mental fluctuations, and the maintenance of this suspension in order to realize the fusion with the Absolute and the transcendence of the world of illusion.
The Great Cosmic Power BAGALAMUKHI confers to the aspirant the power of fascination and the gift of eloquence.
She is very helpful also for the stopping of any negative process, aspect, state. She is the Great Cosmic Power that is acting first against the negative forces and energies until we are ready to defend them. In this way She represents an aspect of Divine Grace.
The Great Cosmic Power of Universal Order and Wisdom - MATANGI
The universal order and harmony that is an expression of Divine Wisdom is manifested by the Great Cosmic Power MATANGI. She is the one that makes possible the fact that in the whole universe law is ruling in Eternity.
She makes the beauty, harmony, love and splendor of the whole Universe to exist in Eternity not as an exception from chaos but as a law from which chaos is just a temporary exception.
The Great Cosmic Power MATANGI is the Divine Wisdom that exists behind everything.
She is the power that inspires the talented writers, the inspired poets, the famous singers, the eloquent speakers and the wonderful musicians, being the source of their fascination.
In daily life she is the power that is given to the spoken word to bring harmony and peace when it is correctly used.
MATANGI should be the one adored especially by those that want to increase harmony and the state of order in their lives.
The Great Cosmic Power of Divine Fulfilment and Abundance - KAMALATMIKA
KAMALATMIKA is the Great Cosmic Power that expresses in the manifestation the completitude and the fulfillment of the Supreme in the act of creation. She is the beatific consciousness in manifestation, the spiritual lucidity, the beauty and bliss expressed in the entire creation.
KAMALATMIKA’s power is that which removes any kind of poverty: the poverty in the physical world as well as poverty in the spiritual world. She is the one that appears as the most enchanting of the Great Cosmic Feminine Powers but in the same time she is the one that disappears the fastest from the ones that are forgetting about Her.
With great generosity this Great Cosmic Power is giving gifts to Her worshipers such as: richness, joy, plenitude, enchantment, happiness, opulence, elation, ecstasy.
KAMALATMIKA is the play of consciousness full of joy and spontaneity in its display in the outside world. She is the crowning of the whole Creation that is in the end the fulfillment in the Divine Ecstasy.

Gurdjieff - the Unknown Man
by Kenneth Walker, M. D
The Russian philosopher P. D. Ouspensky illustrated the difficulty of recognizing a teacher of esoteric knowledge, with two stories. The first told of a German who journeyed to India in search of a guru and returned without having found one. He had not realized that the native servant who looked after him while he was in that country was the man for whom he was seeking. The second story referred to a dealer in parrots living in Bordeaux, who, quite unbeknown to his fellow townsmen, was a teacher of esoteric knowledge.
I shall assume that esoteric knowledge exists and shall discuss Ouspensky’s statement that teachers of this knowledge are usually difficult to recognize. I shall do so because the two stories with which he illustrates his thesis are of great interest when they are taken in conjunction with Ouspensky’s account of his own search for a teacher.
Even as a schoolboy Ouspensky was interested in the idea of the miraculous, and as he grew to manhood his interest increased. When he was working as a journalist on the staff of a Moscow paper, his desk was stacked with books with such strange titles as Life After Death, Dogma et Rituel de la Haute Magie, The Sincere Narrations of a Pilgrim, and many others of a kindred nature.
A few years later he began experimenting on himself in the hope that by altering his state of consciousness he would be able to gain knowledge of a kind different from that which one acquires in an ordinary state. The difficulty was to discover how this change of consciousness could be brought about.
He knew that drugs such as opium and hashish produced a change and experimented with hashish. But the method was unreliable and he soon became dissatisfied with it, although it allowed him “to look over the garden wall,” as he called it. It was clear that something was missing, something that he needed before he could go any further with his experiments in changes of consciousness.
“I know it is not a dream,” he stated. “In these experiments and experiences there is a taste of reality which cannot be imitated and about which one cannot make a mistake. I know that all This is there. I have become convinced of it. Unity exists. But how to link what is above with what is below?”
Something, as Ouspensky rightly said, was missing, something had to be known before he could go further. “I feel,” he continued, “that a method is necessary.… And more and more often I begin to think that this method can be given by those schools of yogis and Sufis about which one reads and hears.” (P. D. Ouspensky, A New Model of the Universe.)
He allowed nothing to stand in the way of finding a method by which he could overcome the difficulties he had encountered, and a few years later he abandoned work on a book he was writing and went East. This was in 1913, an unpropitious date for such a journey as his, for the Kaiser was displaying a bellicose spirit and was building an ominously large navy for Germany.
In 1914 the storm broke over Europe, and without having had time to find what he had been seeking, Ouspensky was compelled to hurry home, comforting himself with the thought that he would return to the East. Two years later and in the most unlikely quarter - the old city of Moscow in his own country - he discovered what he had failed to find in Ceylon and India. He found Gurdjieff. Or did Gurdjieff find him? It is difficult to say. Gurdjieff had a wonderful capacity for giving the appearance of accident to what he had deliberately contrived.
What happened in Moscow in 1916 is narrated in Ouspensky’s later book In Search of the Miraculous. He recounts how, while he was giving lectures in Moscow on the subject of his prewar Eastern journey, a friend persuaded him to meet a certain Caucasian Greek, the leader of a Moscow group that was engaged in various “occult” studies and experiments.
“Persuaded” is the correct word, for on principle Ouspensky was suspicious of groups engaged in parlour yogi-tricks. He was therefore inclined to be extremely critical of this group and its teacher, but eventually he agreed to meet him at a small café. In his posthumous book he writes:
I remember this meeting very well, I saw a man of oriental type, no longer young, with a black moustache and piercing eyes, who astonished me first of all because he seemed to be disguised and completely out of keeping with the place and its atmosphere…. And this man with the face of an Indian rajah or an Arab sheik, whom I at once seemed to see in a white burnous or a gilded turban, seated here in this little café where small dealers and commission agents met together, in a black overcoat with a velvet collar and bowler hat, produced the strange, unexpected and almost alarming impression of a man poorly disguised, the sight of whom embarrasses you because you see he is not what he pretends to be, yet you have to speak and behave as though you did not see it. He spoke Russian incorrectly with a strong Caucasian accent; and this accent, with which we are accustomed to associate anything apart from philosophical ideas, strengthened still further the strangeness and unexpectedness of the impression.…
He sat on a sofa, with one leg tucked beneath him, drinking black coffee from a tumbler, smoking and sometimes glancing at me. I liked his movements, which had a great deal of a kind of feline grace and assurance; even to his silence there was something which distinguished him from others.
I have quoted this account of Ouspensky’s first meeting with Gurdjieff at length because I want to compare his first impressions with my own on meeting Gurdjieff, some thirty years later. Not that our situations were similar, for whereas Gurdjieff was a stranger to Ouspensky, I was familiar with both his ideas and his methods and had been studying them for a quarter of a century. Although I had never met him, I had long ago accepted him as a great teacher. But we all have our preconceived notions of what a great teacher should look like and how he should speak and behave, and Gurdjieff did not fit into the pigeonhole I had prepared for him.
When I met him in 1948 Gurdjieff was living in a flat in Rue du Colonel Reynard, near the Arc de Triomphe, Paris. It was a small flat suited to the needs of a small French bourgeois family, and its furnishings were not to my taste.
We - and by “we” I mean those many people who were now studying his ideas - were crowded into a tiny drawing room and were either perched uncomfortably on small wooden stools or else were squatting on the floor, listening to a reading from a manuscript entitled Beelzebub’s Tales to His Grandson.
The words were difficult to follow, and as sentences sometimes sprawled inelegantly over a quarter of the page of the manuscript from which one of us was reading, my attention often wandered toward the door leading into the lobby.
What kind of man would push open that glass-panelled door before the reading had finished? I had been led to expect that he would eventually join us, and it was as had been foretold. At the end of an hour’s reading the door moved forward a foot, stopped there for a full minute, and then was opened wide to admit Gurdjieff.
He stood there, looked around the room, his dark eyes taking everybody in, and then sat down on the chair that had been left vacant for him. Oriental, yes, for even without the tall kalmak that he was wearing nobody could have mistaken him for a Westerner. “Dark piercing eyes” as Ouspensky had described? No, they were dark, but kindly rather than piercing, eyes that noted everything without staring, eyes which were very much alive, but not piercing. What struck me more forcibly than the eyes was the height of the brow and the fact that although Gurdjieff was said to be over eighty years of age there was not a line on his face.
Gurdjieff believed very strongly in the good effect that eating together has on personal relationships, and the sharing of meals, cooked by himself, was a daily ritual in his flat.
It was in the small dining room into which we crowded an hour later that I was able to examine him more closely, and as I had the good fortune to sit directly opposite him, separated only by the breadth of a narrow table, I was in an excellent position to follow his every movement. And some things unusual in these movements immediately struck me.
Here was an old man, and old men are inclined to hesitate and to fumble; not only were these signs of old age entirely absent, but Gurdjieff possessed an extraordinary control over his body.
He was preparing a salad for us and was cutting slices off a cucumber, fishing for small onions in a bottle, dividing up gourds, and he was doing all this with the assurance of a skilled surgeon engaged in his favorite operation. The whole work of preparing the salad was done without one false or unnecessary movement. It was also done speedily, but without any vestige of hurry.
Nor was this the only evidence of his mastery over his body, for I had already noticed his movements as he entered the drawing room and again when he had preceded us into the dining room at the end of the reading. He was a heavy man with a very protuberant abdomen, yet he had moved with the quietness and smoothness of a cat. A cat, yes; Ouspensky had been right in talking about this “feline grace,” and although thirty-odd years had passed, his movements were still pleasing to watch.
The meal proceeded. It resembled an oriental feast rather than a European dinner. The dishes were strange to me and I often had no knowledge of what I was eating. The vodka was fiery and, to one who never took more than an occasional glass of wine, exceedingly difficult to swallow. I had been warned, however, that the toasts were obligatory, and knowing, as I did, that one had to pay for everything one received, I gulped it down bravely.
Gurdjieff spoke in a mixture of English, Russian and French, and even if I had not been obliged to swallow vodka I would have had difficulty in understanding him. But what an astonishing man he was!
Now that the kalmak had been removed, the full splendor of his clean-shaven head was fully revealed to me. It rose to an immense height above the level of his ears, reaching its zenith halfway between the frontal region and the occiput. His olive-coloured face was as smooth, forceful and serene as that of the Lohan figure which had impressed me so at the recent Chinese exhibition in London. The dark eyes rested on me momentarily from time to time, and in that brief glance he seemed to have absorbed all that there was to be learned about me.
“But why,” he suddenly asked of me, “why do you not eat more? Do you not like the food? Here, I give you something very special,” and he handed me, between finger and thumb, a small piece of dried sturgeon.
“I like it very much,” I answered him, “but you see I have just arrived from England and - ”
“Ah, yes, in England everyone is starved. What is it named?” A word was suggested by somebody farther down the table. “Yes, they are rationed. They pick here and pick there,” and he enacted so faithfully a sparrow picking up crumbs that I seemed to see it hopping about among the dishes. He was an excellent mimic, and he used the gift frequently in revealing to us our own personalities.
Dish followed dish, toast followed toast, and finally to my immense relief, came coffee and cigarettes. There had been a great deal of laughter and too much to eat and drink, but all the time he had been watching us and teaching us, even while joking. Nothing had happened accidentally; everything had been deliberately contrived by him. With a few words, a gesture, or by the mimicry of some personal peculiarity that someone was trying vainly to hide, he had been showing us to ourselves.
I fully realized at this, my first, meal in his flat the futility of any pretence. It was utterly useless to pretend to be otherwise than one was. “You are turkey cock trying to be peacock,” he had said to somebody during the meal, and when I glanced at the person I realized how fitting the remark was. So, apparently had the person to whom it had been made, for his manner immediately changed.
That was the first of many visits to the flat in the Rue du Colonel Reynard, and of many meals in the company of those who had come to Paris to learn wisdom from the man whose silence “was unlike the silence of anyone else.”
What varied company it was that squeezed, elbow to elbow, around his table: supporters from America, including the widow of a world-famous tenor; English and French doctors; businessmen and lawyers; a British peer; Americans, British, French and Russians of different classes, education and upbringing, and all of whom were held together by their mutual respect for this man who seemed to radiate power from his person.
No one can be so different from his fellow men or can flout convention so freely as Gurdjieff flouted it, without arousing hostility. All sorts of things were said about him: that he cast a hypnotic spell over his followers and fleeced them (and in a sense this was true); that he was a black magician and an irreligious and unscrupulous man. It is quite understandable that such reports as these should have been spread, for he was utterly ruthless in carrying out his mission - to attack without pity all that stood in the way of man’s spiritual development.
Gurdjieff used to say that a man revealed himself most clearly in his reactions to sexuality and to money. I could add yet another signpost to a man’s personality, namely, his reaction to Gurdjieff himself. Many reactions were possible, but it was impossible to be indifferent to him or to forget that he was there. One could be disturbed by him, dislike him, be scandalized by what he did and said, deem him a charlatan or a wise man, be frightened of him or grow fond of him, and one could do all these things in turn; but it was impossible to neglect him. Whatever he was, he was something on a much bigger scale than one had ever seen before, or is ever likely to see again.
Gurdjieff had a very wide range of knowledge, which embraced modern Western scientific theories as well as the special knowledge he had learned in his years of wandering in the East. But it was not so much what he said or what he did that impressed as what he was. Gurdjieff was a living example of the outcome of his own teaching, which he summed up in the words “the harmonious development of man.”
Man, he said, was an unfinished product. Nature had evolved him up to a certain stage and had then left him to his own devices, to struggle to a higher level of consciousness, or to remain as he was, an incomplete being. The distinguishing mark of Gurdjieff is the distinguishing mark of all great teachers. They are remarkable for their being, for what they are, rather than what they do. And it is this which makes it difficult to recognize them, for here in the West we grade men by what they do, not by what they have achieved in their own persons.
There is no need to be surprised, therefore, that Ouspensky’s German returned from India without having found a teacher, or that his dealer in parrots had no local following in Bordeaux.

By George I. Gurdijeff
George Ivanovich Gurdjieff, b.1872, d. Oct. 29, 1949, founded a movement based on doctrines of enlightenment through meditation and heightened self-awareness that attracted many prominent followers in Europe and the United States. Of Russian-Armenian origin, Gurdjieff established his 'Institute for the Harmonious Development of Man' at Fontainebleau, France, where he settled in 1922. He wrote books like “Belzebub's Tales to His Grandson”,“Meetings with remarkable men” and “Life is real only then, when I am”. His disciples included architect Frank Lloyd Wright, painter Georgia O'Keefre, writer Katherine Mansfield, and journalist P. D. Ouspensky
, whose books helped to popularize Gurdjieff's teachings.
(Note: In the following text, “man” refers not to the male only, but it is used in the sense of “human being regardless of sex, person”)
In order to understand what the difference between states of consciousness is, let us consider the state of sleep. This is an entirely subjective state of consciousness. A man is immersed in dreams, whether he remembers them or not, does not matter. Even if some real impression reaches him, such as sounds, voices, warmth, cold, etc., they arouse in him only subjective images.
Then a man wakes up. At first glance, this is a completely new and different state of consciousness. He can move, talk with other people, he can make calculations ahead, he can see danger and avoid it, and so on. It stands to reason that he is now in a better position than when he was asleep. But if we go a little more deeply into things, if we take a look into his inner world, into his thoughts, into the causes of his actions, we shall see that he is almost in the same state as when he is asleep. And it is even worse, because in sleep he is passive, but in the waking state he can do something and the results of his actions will be reflected upon him and upon those around him. And yet he does not remember himself. He is a machine, everything with him happens. He cannot stop the flow of his thoughts, he cannot focus the flow of his thoughts, he cannot control his imagination, his emotions, his attention. He lives in a subjective world of “I love”, “I do not love”, I like”, “I do not like”, “I want”, “I do not want”, that is, of what he thinks he likes, of what he thinks he does not like, of what he thinks he wants, of what he thinks he does not want. He does not see the real world. The real world is hidden from him by a thick wall of uncontrolled imagination. He lives in waking-sleep. He is asleep. What is called “clear consciousness” is actually sleep and a far more dangerous sleep than sleep at night in bed.
Let us take some event in the life of humanity. For instance, war. What does it signify? It signifies that several millions of sleeping people are destroying several millions of other sleeping people. They would not do this, of course, if they were to wake up. Everything that takes place is owing to this sleep.
Both states of consciousness, sleep and the (false) waking state, are thus equally subjective. Only by beginning to remember himself does a man really awaken. And then all surrounding life acquires for him a different aspect and a different meaning. He sees that it is a life of sleeping people, a life in sleep. All that men say and do, they say and do in sleep. All this can have no value whatsoever. Only awakening and what leads to awakening has a value in reality.
How many times have I been asked whether wars can be stopped? Certainly they can. For this it is only necessary that people should awake. This seems a small thing. It is, however, the most difficult thing there can be because this sleep is induced by our so-called education and maintained by the whole surrounding society.
How can one awaken? How can one escape this sleep?
These questions are the most important, the most vital that can ever confront a man. But before this it is necessary to be convinced of the very fact of sleep. It is possible to become convinced of this only by trying to awaken. When a man understands that he does not remember himself and that to remember himself means to awaken to some extent, and when at the same time he sees by experience how difficult is to remember himself, he will understand that he cannot awaken simply by having the desire to do so. It can be said still more precisely that a man cannot awaken by himself, except in exceptionally rare cases, and we are not talking about those cases. But if, let’s say, twenty people make an agreement that whoever of them awakens first shall wake the rest, they already have some chance. Even this, however, is insufficient, because all twenty can go to sleep at the same time and dream that they are waking up. Therefore, more still is necessary. They must be looked after by a man who is not asleep any more, or who does not fall asleep as easily as they do. The twenty people must find such a man and hire him to wake them up and not allow them to fall asleep again. Without this, it is impossible to awaken. This is what must be understood.
It is possible to think for a thousand years. It is possible to write whole libraries of books, to create theories by the million, but all this is in sleep, without any possibility of awakening. On the contrary, these books and these theories, written and created in sleep, will merely send other people to sleep, and so on.
There is nothing new in the idea of sleep. People have been told almost since creation of the world that they are asleep and that they must awaken. Christ disciples even slept when He was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane for the last time. It is all there. But do men understand it? Men take it simply as a form of speech, as an expression, as a metaphor. They completely fail to understand that it must be taken literally. And again it is easy to understand why. In order to understand this idea literally it is necessary to awaken a little, or at least to try to awaken. I have been asked why nothing is said about this kind of sleep in the Gospels. But it is there spoken of almost on every page. This simply shows that people read the Gospel in sleep.
Generally speaking, what is necessary to awaken a man? A good shock is necessary. But when a man is fast asleep, only one shock is not enough. A long period of continual shocks is needed. Consequently, there must be somebody to administer these shocks. I have said before that if a man wants to awaken he must hire somebody who will keep on shaking him for a long time. But whom can he hire if everyone is asleep? A man will hire somebody to wake him up but this one also falls asleep. What is the use of such a man? And a man who can really keep awake will probably refuse to waste his time in waking others up: he may have his own much more important work to do.
There is also the possibility of being awakened by mechanical means. A man may be awakened by an alarm clock. But the trouble is that a man gets accustomed to the alarm clock far too quickly, he ceases to hear it. Many alarm clocks are necessary and always new ones. Otherwise a man must surround himself with alarm clocks which will prevent him sleeping. But here again there are certain difficulties. Alarm clocks must be wound up. In order to wind them up one must remember about them. In order to remember about them one must wake up often. But what is still worse, man gets used to all these alarm clocks and after a certain time he only sleeps better for them. Therefore alarm clocks must be constantly changed, new ones must be continually invented. In the course of time this may help a man to awaken. But there is very little chance of a man doing all the work of winding up, inventing, and changing clocks all by himself, without outside help. It is much more likely that he will begin his work and that it will afterwards unnoticeably pass into sleep, and in sleep he will dream of inventing alarm clocks, of winding them up and changing them, and simply sleep all the sounder for it.
Therefore, in order to awaken, a combination of efforts is needed. It is necessary that somebody wakes the man up. It is necessary that somebody looks after the man who wakes him. It is necessary to have alarm clocks and it is also necessary continually to invent new alarm clocks.
But in order to achieve all this and to obtain results a certain number of people must work together.
One man alone can do nothing.
Before anything else, he needs help. But help cannot come to one man alone. Those who are able to help put a great value to their time. And, of course, they would prefer to help, say, twenty or thirty people who want to awake rather that only one man. Moreover, one man can easily deceive himself about his awakening and make awakening simply a new dream. If several people decide to struggle together against sleep, they will wake each other.
Therefore a man who wants to awake must look for other people who also want to awake and work together with them. This, however, is easier said that done because to start such a work and to organize it requires a knowledge which a sleeping man cannot possess. The work must be organized and have an awakened leader. Only then can it produce the results expected from it. Without these conditions no efforts can result in anything whatever. Men may torture themselves, but those tortures will not make them awake. This is most difficult of all for certain people to understand. By themselves and by their own initiative they may be capable of great efforts and great sacrifices. But because their first effort and their first sacrifice ought to be obedience, nothing on Earth will induce them to obey another. They do not want anybody to tell them what to do. And they do not want to reconcile themselves to the thought that all their efforts and all their sacrifices are thus useless.
Work must be organized. And it can be organized only by a man who knows its problems and its aims, who knows its methods; by a man who has in his time passed through such organized work himself.
